need a roll in shower chair

We have rented a shower chair from Care Medical on our last few trips. The chairs have been in excellent condition and were waiting for us at bell services on arrival. Friendly and efficient service from Care Medical.

New features on WDW resort reservations webpage

This would be so useful but we can't access it from the UK, we get a redirect to the WDTC UK site which has no accessibility info. It's so frustrating!

    Be Our Guest Restaurant

We ate lunch there last week and there were many parties where one was in line to order and others joined them later so it does not seem like a problem for one of you to wait with DD in a quieter spot. Your difficulty will be once inside the foyer before the room where you order is quite small...

    POTC and Disabilities

Our DS is 20 also with severe CP and we have to lift him in and out of the boat. If you use a personal wheelchair there is an alternate entrance if you can transfer to a regular chair it's possible to use the regular line. CMs will only assist with taking a guest's wheelchair to the exit and...

    England and Scotland in 2014

www.visitscotland.com would be a good starting place for things to see and places to stay. If you are anxious about driving you could take a coach tour, they are a good way to see several attractions in a few days without having to drive yourself which means that you can just sit back and enjoy...

Tell us 1 thing you love, and 1 thing you highly dislike about your home resort.

BLT love - being so close to MK that you can hear the trains BLT hate - that you can rarely get an accessible parking space

    BLT wheelchair accessible villas

Correct. ADA changes mean that accessible accommodation has to be bookable in the same way as non-accessible. When the online reservation system came into use you could not originally book accessible accommodation with it you had to book what you wanted and then call to confirm an accessible...

    BLT wheelchair accessible villas

We had a 2 bed HA at BLT last year it only had a roll-in shower in the master bathroom. The other 2 bathrooms had a tub with shower over. It wasn't convenient for us either since we travelled with a couple who had the master bedroom and we used the second bedroom. I'm sure there was space in the...

    BLT villas

BLT does not have fully accessible villas in all categories but there are HA 2 bedroom villas in the theme park view and lake view categories (no standard views). There are not many fully accessible units (some classed as accessible are just regular rooms with additions for hearing...

Wheelchair/Handicapped Accessible Room Locations and Measurements

The one we had last time had the roll-in shower in the master suite bathroom the other 2 bathrooms had a regular tub with shower over. We found this a little awkward as we were travelling with another couple who had the master suite and we used the second bedroom. It meant we had to use their...

Chances of getting a free upgrade?

I have never heard of Monarch giving free upgrades. We've been upgraded for free twice but only as a result of a mess up by the airline in the first place so in lieu of compensation really. Operational upgrades are more likely on scheduled airlines and on business routes rather than the bucket...

    Older parents, ECVs and waiting

Wow! I learn something new every day here :worship: How would you go about arranging this? We have not been able to go on this ride in years.

    the healing power of disney?

I am a great believer in the healing power of Disney. Our very first trip to WDW was to celebrate our DS surviving risky major surgery and I am convinced that trip made a world of difference, giving us as a family something to focus on ahead when things were tough and then the sheer joy of being...

    new room at pop?

HA with roll-in shower 1 King and 1 Double bed is available as a booking option so it sounds like that is what you have. When Disney have been refurbishing the HA rooms they have made modifications to allow for 2 beds in the roll-in shower rooms.

HA room location at Kidani Village?

A lock off means that there is a connecting internal door to the neighbouring unit. A 2 bedroom unit is made up of a 1 bedroom unit and a studio joined together. If you book a 2 bedroom lock-off then this door is unlocked so you can pass through to the additional studio room. If you book a 1...

for all you wonder what the new bus they tested looked like inside

Interesting to see these and the space on them. They do look a lot longer than the present buses I wonder how that will work at the bus stops :confused3

    BLT or AKV?

We did a split stay at BLT and Kidani last summer and both resorts were amazing but very different. Is a split stay an option so you could experience both? There is nothing like watching Wishes from your balcony but it's also pretty awesome to have all those animals wandering around outside.

    Firework and parade viewing?

In addition to the wheelchair areas there are also 'preferred viewing' areas for both Wishes and Illuminations and the number of guests in these areas is strictly controlled. Access is complimentary with some WDW resort & ticket packages and you need to reserve a space in advance. I'm not sure...

    2 families in a 2br

On our last trip we shared 2-bed villas at BLT and Kidani with DD and her partner. We were able to have our credit card on our KTTW and they had a different card on theirs. It didn't seem to be a problem at all. I did online check in and added our card then, they added theirs after we checked...

    Fantasmic with bad knees

DH has knee problems and cannot do stairs, we also have DS who uses a wheelchair. DH sits on a bench at the top next to the wheelchair and I sit in the row in front. Either of these spots might work for you. There is plenty of seating on the top row alongside the wheelchair spaces.
