OT - moving to a highback booster

I moved my oldest to a high back booster at 5 (when he was first big enough) because that is what you do right. A few months later driving on I-95 at 65 mph I looked in the rear view mirror and saw my son walking across the back row of the van. I nearly had a heart attack. I have never yelled...

Need coupon for Legoland from Spirit magazine

Where did you find the Lego Master Builders club information. We have 3 kids so that would work for our third child ticket and at the same time make for one very happy 9 yo..... :)

    Boston restaurants

We are headed to Boston with the kids tomorrow and were looking for any recommendations for kid friendly restaurants. Would prefer not to spend a fortune since three of the five kids rarely eat anything we order for them! Only place that I know we are doing is the cheers restaurant! Thanks...

Trip Help - MA to VT

Thank you for all the replies - a few of the ones closer to Burlington we have already done in the past - a few I have never heard of before. I am off to start looking at them!

Trip Help - MA to VT

The directions I am getting look like I would be going 93 to 89 - but honestly nothing is set in stone - I am heading up to visit my sister but she is not going to be around until late that night and I want to get out of Boston early on Friday to avoid weekend/end of work day traffic so I was...

Trip Help - MA to VT

I am driving from Boston, MA to Burlington, VT with my three kids (9,7,4) and was looking for any possible places/sites to stop along the way. We are from VA and kind of hitting different parts of New England on our summer trip to the grandparents this year. Also any hotel recommendations in...

Driving from Woodbridge, VA to Orlando

We drive down from Fairfax VA alot (with little kids) and we always stop in Savannah, GA at the Wingate right off of I-95 - there are a bunch of restaurants right by (we usually end up at Cracker Barrel) and then it is less the 5hrs in the morning. Now that the kids are a little older we tend...

    Tell me about the iPad.

Can you tether your Iphone to the Ipad if you are on the Verizon network? My husband is arguing with me that you can't and I could swear that the guy at the Verizon store told me I could. Does anyone do this that currently uses Verizon Wireless? Thanks!!!

It's a first for me..PPO for ER, charged for Non PPO Dr..anyone else?

Happened to us. We were on vacation and our 2 year old got bit by a dog. We called the insurance company who told us which hospital we needed to go to for coverage. A few weeks later we received a bill from the doctor that saw her in the ER. Spent quite a few weeks fighting with the...

    OT - Apraxia

I normally don't respond on these boards but your message made me feel like I really should. My ds is 34 months old and has been in therapy for 10 months also. When we began therapy (private at the time b/c the county wouldn't agree there was an issue - as a side the county did recommend we...

Would you go to SW if there were no Orcas?

2 of the last 3 times we have been to Sea World we were not able to see the Whales due to births (our timing seems to be wonderful) - and we still had a wonderful time there. I would still continue to go if they needed to remove the Orcas from the site.

3/4 inch, are you Kidding me!!!

We were there in December and were convinced that our 8 yo ds was finally 48" tall. He went on everything he wanted to and no one gave him a second glance. Lo and behold - at his well child visit at the beginning of this month he is only 46 1/2" - poor kid said "Seriously I am not tall enough...

OT - Kindergarten for my 4 yo this September

I agree with most of what has been posted above. It really depends on your child and no one knows your child better than you. My oldest ds was ready for kindergarten at probably 2 yo if they would have taken him - he is well ahead of his peers but also by far the smallest child in his class...

Tell me about traveling to NYC with young (under 7) kids

We took our kids in October (ds 7, dd 5, ds 2) and had a fantastic time. My daughter would rather go back there instead of going back to Disney again. I would highly recommend the Courtyard Marriott Manhattan Midtown East (I think it is on 53rd and 3rd) - rooms were big for NYC standards, we...

    Hotel in NYC

Our 5th person was a 2 yo so he doesn't count on the reservation. That is how we had 5 people in our room.

    Hotel in NYC

I second the Marriott Courtyard Manhattan Midtown East. We stayed there in October with our 3 kids (7,5,2) and the rooms were so much bigger than I ever expected. I think we paid $179/night in advance on Hotels.com and then stayed an extra night once we were there and I think that ran us...

    Philadelphia or Lancaster

I am looking for something to do with my 2 younger children over Spring Break (March 30 - April something) - my parents want to meet up with us for a few days so it needs to be somewhere between Albany, NY and Washington, DC. The only thing I can come up with would be either Philly or...

    Target Toy Clearance

I got spike yesterday for $32 - I have been watching for that toy since the day after Christmas - my 2 year old has some delays and it is one of the only toys he has ever shown any interest in. The shelves were already pretty picked over and it was just sitting there - so excited.

What BIG thing are you getting your 5 yo girl?

My 5 1/2 dd is getting the Melissa & Doug horse stable (http://www.amazon.com/Melissa-Doug-Folding-Horse-Stable/dp/B000067BIE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1261272542&sr=8-2) and some Breyer horses for her big gift - she is obsessed with animals - and has the biggest collection of LPS...
