what do you do when it rains?

Pack extra shoes, take an umbrella, buy ponchos and have a great time! The parks really do thin out when it rains and, depending on when you go, keeps the temps down.

OT: At What Age Did You Pierce Your Daughter's Ears?

I had my daughters ears pierced at 3 months. She cried for all of 20 seconds and we have never had a problem (she is now 8). After the initial piercing, we bought screw-back earrings to make sure they wouldn't just fall out. I think because they have always been there, we've never had a problem...

How nice is the Wilderness Lodge?

The lobby is stunning, rooms are great and pool area is beautiful. Bus and boat service were also great. Try to get a meal in at the Whispering Canyon- easily some of the best food I have had at WDW. I visited in mid June and noticed because of all the trees and such there seemed to be more...

    Magic wearing off?

I agree with the suggestion to visit other, smaller theme parks to get the magic back. My family and I just returned from visiting Sesame Place in Pa and it really made us appreciate how much effort the WDW staff put into their jobs. The whole time we were there all we kept saying was "This sure...

    odd MGM question

Ok, time for the weird question of the day. Just returned 7/9 from our stay at the BCV (Fabulous!) and something has been bugging me since we got back. on our night at MGM music was being played over the sound system on the main drag near the Sorcerer's hat. A song came on that sounded like LL...

Be Honest! How bad is June?

We went June 18-23 last year. It rained every, single day. We just bought rain ponchos and kept on truckin'. Looking back I realize it was probably a good thing that it rained. It was scorching even without the sun. It was very crowded! I have visited during other months and this was the worst I...

how does the night extra hours work

We went in June and did the EMH for the AK. It was great! There were no lines and it wasn't crowded at all. There were no animals to see but we were able to get some rides and shopping done. We went back the next morning and were able to spend time on the animals not waitng in lines. The AK has...

    Taking grandma along as "babysitter"

We are taking my MIL to help with our 11 month old. We are paying for everything but we are not paying her. If you are worried about space look into staying in a villa. If she offered I'd go for it.

    Dieting for Disney

When I made ressies last Sept. I decided I wanted to be thin (or at least thinner) for our trip in June. I joined WW (points plan) and set myself a weight goal. I am now 65 lbs. lighter and 9 lbs. away from my goal. We leave in 10 days (so I didnt make my goal) and I cant wait to wear all my new...

boat from WL to MK question

Does anyone know when the boats from the WL to the MK start running in the mornings? Will be there 6/19 - 6/25. Oh, and I've never done the evening extra magic hours before. Do the buses and boats continue to run during these times? During my stay some of the parks appear to stay open until 1:00...

Disney transportation vs car to get to parks

We only take the bus to the the MK and drive to the other parks. We have found that it is much quicker, especially after a long day at the parks. Don't get me wrong- I think Disney transportation is pretty good. But, if you have a choice- drive. Try doing both and see what works for you. Why...

    WLV room question

Hi! I'm sure this has been asked before and I probably missed it.So, sorry if this is a repeat. Will be staying at the WLV 6/19-6/25 in a 2 bedroom. We are taking my MIL and FIL who have never been to WDW. I would like to get a room with an amazing view and great location. Can a certain room or...

    Kind of odd sunscreen question...

Last trip I used the spray on sunscreen for babies heads along my part line. It worked really well and wasn't as thick as regular sunscreen. Plus, its for babies so its gentle, waterproof and spf 45. I know Babies R Us sells it.

    No Kids at WDW?

There is always alot of discussion about the "perfect age" for WDW. I have come to the conclusion that there is no such thing. Every child is different and every stage of their lives is different. We have takenour DD at age 2 and 5. Sure, when she was older she had just a little more fun and...

What age to take kids for first time?

We took our DD for the first time when she was 2. People thought we were crazy. We got the whole "she'll never remember it" line, too. WRONG! We took her again when she was 4 and she blew us away talking about all she remembered from last time. We leave in June for our next trip with DD, now...

Yikes! I got yelled at 3 times in the crowds last week!

I don't understand the rush most people seem to be in while at WDW. There have been a few times my DD was almost flattened by people w/ stollers and w/out. Those rides aren't going anywhere. Not only that, but aren't they hot enough w/out adding the time trials to it?!! My DH has also joked...

    Can anyone ease my mind?

Our last trip was the first week of May 2003. It was in the 90's everyday but we didn't have any rain. The crowds were a bit of a shock. I also thought they wouldn't be too bad given the time of year. They were the worst we've ever experienced (we usually go in Sept. or Oct.) but not so bad that...
