Jake and the Neverland Pirates....? Bueller?....Bueller?

Hello Dis Board Buds - My 3 year old nephew is a big fan of Jake and the Neverland Pirates (which sounds to me like the name of a hippie band from the 70's). pirate: Anyone know where in the parks we might encounter these guys? A show or a meet and greet? As usual, I really appreciate...

UPDATE-Tonsils are coming out-post #36 (was Peeling palms...)

I am so glad this thread was started!!! I had a case of mono in my teens. Ever since then I come down with (usually) at least one yearly case of strep throat. Every doctor I talk to has a differenent opinion on removing my tonsils. Half of them say "do it" and the ever half give me the...

MGM and Epcot for a 5 1/2 yr old. Suggestions needed.

I agree. Mine really liked watching all the artisans and performers in Epcot. I get a schedule at the beginning of the day and try to plan for the ones I know she would find the most appealing. Also, in UK is a hedge maze (not scary, and not too tall) and my daughter ran through that thing...

How much time in each park?

Assuming this is your first trip and you want to do EVERYTHING, this is what I would budget: Magic Kingdom - 2 days Epcot - 1 1/2 to 2 days MGM - 1/2 to 1 day Animal Kingdon 1/2 to 1 day If you aren't really interested in everything you can get through MGM and AK in 1/2 a day easily...

    Dec 8-15, crowds???

If I remember correctly, we got them around August or September. It is definitely worth checking out. Also, I was told it is better to attend a MVMCP on weeknights, because the Friday-Sunday parties tend to sell out because of local kids attending. HAVE A BLAST!!! :woohoo:

    july 4

We went to the World around the 4th once, but never again. Knowing what is waiting for you is half the battle, though: #1. It is HOT - not like "fan your face" hot, but like "surface of the sun" hot. Weat hats, bring water, eat lots of fruit, and take LOTS AND LOTS OF breaks. Sit by the...

did you ever use a child "leash" at DL?

I have never had to use a child restraint leash with my daughter because she was always a stroller junkie. However we have certainly seen many children wearing them at the parks, and always offered their parents a big smile. Do what you need to do OP, and have a great time! Frankly, I wish...

    Princess Costumes

I agree, size 12 is the largest I've seen them. It is DEFINITELY worth purchasing them before you get to WDW. It will be cheaper, and your daughter can try it on for fit. My friends has a VERY tall nine year old, and couldn't find a good fit so she wound up having one made by a local...

    Dec 8-15, crowds???

We went around this time in December of 2005 and LOVED it. If you follow the basic strategies outlined on the DIS (fastpass, hit the big rides first), you'll have no worries. I can not emphasize ENOUGH how much we enjoyed MVMCP. We went back and forth for awhile about the additional expense...

    Magical Secrets??

Not sure if you mentioned it, but if your kids are into the whole "costume" thing, that brought quite a bit of attention to my daughter when we went. CM's were SOOOOO great! They would address her as "Princess" or whatever.

    Stroller or no stroller

Big Lots occasionally has a good cheap stroller. And I think you're "sane" for doing what is the most comfortable for you and your family!!!

Ear Tubes - does anyone regret getting them for DC?

I had tubes put in when I was in the first grade (teacher noticed I was having difficulties). I have no hearing problems 20 something years later...

Feb26-Mar3 Whats it going to be like

We went on almost the exact same dates this year and had a great time. We experienced no crowds, and only found short lines in Fantasyland in the MK. The weather was kind of up and down. It was cold (in the 50's) at night and in the early mornings. It rained a few days we were there and...

Do you bring a stroller rain cover?

Definitely would recommend the stroller cover. During our trip in March we used ours a few times. Between strength against stronger wind/rain and the need to leave the stroller securely covered while on rides I say go with the cover. Mel :)

    Anyone else using websites less?

OP...my husband was just saying that he was concerned that websites like mousesaver and others are going to lose a lot of traffic. I miss the excitement of seeing what kind of deal I could score.....BRP kind of took that over for me. I still say we should see if this will last...... Mel
