Have you ever wanted to quit in the middle of a race?

Congratulations on your 15K, and your progress towards Goofy 2018! When I feel like quitting I remind myself that I'm no longer running the original race, but a much shorter race. So halfway thru a 15K? I'm now running a 7K race, and I just know that the beer's gonna be cold at the finish...

Is it OK for a male to run Tinker Bell or Princess?

Actually, I thought that they grouped the men together in front of the start and gave them a 90 second head start before unleashing all the princesses to chase after them?

People who don't train properly and frustrate you.

If she's run 5Ks and does spartan training then my guess is that you have nothing to worry about and that she'll be able to complete the 15K at a reasonable pace.

    Looking to start running.....help

Excellent advice from everyone, but also - see your doctor first. She might want to run tests on your heart before you start.

    Marathon Weekend 2018

That was my experience - amazing what a thousand miles or so will do to one's time!

    Which races would you run?

Frankly I'd run the 10K (fun lap pre-dawn around Epcot on Friday) and then the Marathon on Sunday, with a day of rest in between. The Half will overlap courses with the 10K and the Full, and as a first-timer in 2016 the thought of running a Full the day after the Half would've been pretty nuts...

    First 5K

Be careful not to lose your young child at the 5K - there'll be thousands of people herded together in the pre-dawn darkness, and while the sprawling staging area is lit the course itself is pretty dark.

    Official Goofy 2018 Thread

Love it! I can also hear this: Co-worker: How was your Half Marathon? You: Terrible. So bad that I went and did it all over again.

WDW Marathon Experience - Early Corrals?

Started in O (out of P) in 2016 and moved up to G for 2017 - a completely different (and better) experience. Weather (more running in the heat of the day in 2016 from the back vs. able to get going earlier and warm-up sooner in the pre-dawn cold in 2017), experiencing MK lit up in the pre-dawn...

What's with the all the people wearing Marathon medals for a week?

I've often thought that Disney needs to refurbish Spaceship Earth into a separate ticketed experience with recliners, snacks, and premium beverage service - the perfect place for that well-deserved nap after a full day in the park and for special events, like a VIP post-race retreat.

    16 minute mile - Strictness

This is great advice! Running 10Ks will also give you the chance to establish a POT that, if fast enough, will get you into an earlier corral, giving you a time/pace "buffer" that will decrease course congestion and lines for you and give you greater flexibility to plan out which stops you do.

    Marathon Weekend 2018

If you're thinking of Poly and you qualify for SOG, why not just stay at SOG? Far more bang for the buck IMHO... But here's a modest proposal - if you're not planning to do any parks while there, why not stay off-site or, dare I say it, Universal? Plus if you're not buying park tickets then...

Barca33Runner's Journal: Thanks For Noticin' Me(Comments Welcome)

Agree about the new DS - starting with the parking and the face lift, and the new food choices. I swear by Ragland Road, but I confess that going forward our first ADRs at DS will now always be for Art Smith. Mmmmmm fried chicken and donuts....

Have we reached the saturation point?

I love Disney and the Disney marathon. Truly one of a kind. But for half marathons there are much cheaper and frankly much better options out there for my running vacation dollar. I think other folks are thinking the same way - run thru MK, run thru Disneyland, and then move on.

If you focus on what you left behind, you will never be able to see what lies ahead

Not exactly May, but if you can swing the weekend of April 22/23 I highly recommend the First Flight 5K/Flying Pirate Half Marathon in the Outer Banks, North Carolina. Great weekend getaway for the family! http://www.flyingpiratehalfmarathon.com/ Edit: Oh wait, that's the same weekend as the...

Run Disney - certain places off limits for pictures?

I was once on a non-running related Disney railroad tour that had us go onto Main Street USA before MK opened - the tour guide asked us not to take pictures of the park, just the train. That was because they had service vehicles (i.e., pick-up trucks) on MSU that kind of spoils the Music Man...
