Going to do an exchange for Maui in 2016, combined with a week or so at Aulani. When should I start looking? Any guesses as to what my chances are? Should I have a backup island or backup plan?

That's better yet! I was weighing pros and cons of 2 queens (we have king at home and like our space) vs. seating. That takes care of that issue. Now, to determine if we could deal with "standard" view.

I just noticed yesterday that they have point values assigned on the DVC site for Aulani hotel rooms, as well as the regular DVC units. The point values are lower. Aside from the bed configuration and lack of kitchenette (assuming this is the case?), what is the difference? Do you still get...

We also went to the Luau at Paradise Cove. We didn't choose VIP and had no issues going to the buffet ourselves. I believe it's cheaper if you book ahead of time online, rather than through Aulani. We booked through Aulani. Our rental car was through Thrifty off-airport. No problems at...

I'm sure it tastes fine, the problem is, every time I cruise and do not drink bottled water, my ankles swell ridiculously. I've found the only way to combat this is to drink sufficient bottled water. I suppose I can bring enough for the first day and then buy more in Nassau.

I'd like to bring a case of WATER. Can I just slap a luggage tag on it (like I do on RCI) and hand it off to a porter?

Not sure how quickly you could shop, but maybe it would be worth it to get the taxi to stop and wait? Not sure how much a taxi will be to/from airport, but our car rental for 8 days was only $115 through Trifty. Well worth the money to have the freedom.

Target is the exit before Aulani on the highway. Walmart is two exits before Aulani. How are you getting from airport to resort? The store across the street is priced higher than Target or Walmart, but still cheaper than Aulani. I wouldn't recommend trying to shop for a week there though...

Is there a separate check-in for villas, or is it at main hotel? Separate parking? Sorry, didn't search because I'm leaving in about 15 minutes. Lol
