    DCL Policy changes

Sorry, but that simply isn't true based on my experience. I've had to be subjected to loud talking and making of noise when in the past I've been on the veranda in the dark enjoying the sea go by. DCL needs to ban booze (or go on a ticket basis - say 2 drinks per person per day..and ban...

On the day you check out of DVB your KTTW will still allow you access to the pool area and onto the beach. If I'm not mistaken, there is a shower head (one head height, one for your feet) on the ramp leading from the beach to the resort 'sidewalks'. You should be able to get a pool towel from...

    Vero Beach

When going to DVBR we fly into MCO...as the flights into there are usually the cheapest for us....from MCO it's about a 2 hr drive to the resort. HHI has hundreds of places to eat...including some quite close by. HTH

Lorelei528 These folks advertise on the Melbourne airport site that they go to DVBR...you may wish to call them to see what they'd charge....if you do, could you please post their rates here for the possible benefit of others? TIA http://www.melbourneairportexpress.com/

You certainly are allowed to do that and many do. In Florida, all beaches are public property, so you can't be barred from doing this. That said, to be of 'good form' perhaps you shouldn't set up your things in extreme closeness to the items being rented out. there's plenty of room for all! No...

The beach rentals (for umbrellas, chairs, cabanas and the like) are per day. Some things like the jet skis are per hour or per 1/2 hr....as to pictures....searching this board will yield quite a bit...of course there's always Google :)

the only 'cabanas' I can quickly think of at VB (but it is still early am here) would be the ones you can rent on the beach. They are the typical fabric bottomless shelter used to shield you from sunlight...sort of a clam shell thing deep enough to sit in/under. HTH

In Part I you said: Luckily, there are elevators and luggage carts to help you with your belongings as there no bell services offered at the resort. Just for clarification, the only elevators are in the Live Oak Lodge Building :)

    Wi-Fi at Vero

I just got back from 11 nights in 1550... Is there wi-fi in the beach cottages. >>> In theory yes....but over the years (we only stay in BC's) I hope you don't have to do much work while you're there. Lots of drop out, times when there is no signal, or signal power level is so low you can't...

Vero Beach Hobbie Cat Rentals and other Fun Stuff

At the access to the beach, weather permitting, they do rent jet ski's, sail boats, kayaks, along with beach chairs etc. When you check in, look over the activities list...there's lots to do. HTH

I agree with Rob that the cottages at the south end of the resort are generally the best (near building #15) The cottage most south is #1575, just north of that is # 1550. Having just got back from 11 nights in 1550, I would say if you can avoid 1575 for a stay this March, I would - the...

    Vero Beach in January

I've been at VB in January at least 6 times over 8 years. It's a crap shoot. I've seen it in the 40's and in the mid 80's. The wind is what really determines how it feels. So long as you're not 100% expecting to have time on the beach, I wouldn't let the chance of some coolness hold you back...

D I just left DVB this morning...I was there since before Sandy hit. The buildings and grounds of the resort made it through just fine (aside from the expected leaf litter from sustained winds of about 50 MPH). The beach did suffer some errosion, but no where's near as bad as in other past...
