    Advent Calendars

I bought my great niece and nephew each one. They both have small books in them. One has Disney stories and the other Christmas stories. The 3 year old loves being read to and the 8 year old can practice her reading by reading to him.

Royal's Black Friday sales open now.

Where do they list the Black Friday sales? App? website? I need to know for next year. We are booked for Feb. 2025 which is why I assume that I couldn't find anything this year, too far out. There are 12 of us and we are stopping at Aruba and Curacao. I for one would like to get as much as...

Are funerals changing? (Spin off from church issues thread)

The money you pay basically is a life insurance policy and can be transferred to another funeral home. If the new home’s rates are higher then the difference would need to be paid.

Are funerals changing? (Spin off from church issues thread)

After my youngest sister passed 13 months ago today I went and made my arrangements. I chose cremation with no visitation. I was offered a traditional service or a new type. It is more of a social hour with couches and chairs, the funeral home provides coffee and tea and the family can bring in...

Getting Halloween Decorations Cancelled for Entire Class?

I remember working in a school with some families who didn't observe any holidays including birthdays. They always made a big thing out of not celebrating but their children had better have any treats passed out waiting for them the next day.

    Were your parents supportive parents?

Yes, no and it depends on which kid it was. I was allowed to live at home during college but had to pay 1/4 of my paychecks for rent and had to fully pay for college myself. If we wanted to do sports or other extra curricular activities it was either no or we had to pay for, find our own...

What would school children of today be stunned to learn about your school?

In elementary school we had an hour for lunch and went home for it. No breakfast or lunch was served at school. In high school my class, 1976, was the first class to have coed homerooms.

When was the last time you went on a day out?

Too long. I just spent a week in the hospital for a shoulder replacement and was supposed to go to rehab but insurance denied it so I am housebound for the forseeable future. I walk with a cane or walker and having one arm in a sling makes mobility pretty hard.

Ice Cream's Poll - Bestest Ice Cream?

My absolute favorite is black raspberry which is hard to find here in the midwest. Nothing compares to the Perry's brand I grew up with in WNY.

    Shoulder replacement

By this time tomorrow I will have a new shoulder! I am only supposed to be in the hospital one night. I am hoping that they send me for rehab as I live alone and have severe arthritis in my other shoulder and both knees. The past 2 weeks have been very painful as I had to stop my arthritis...

All you can eat doesn't mean all you should eat

I went to Red Lobster one time when they were running their Endless Shrimp special and there was a guy at a nearby table who was trying to see how many shrimp scampi he could eat. He ended up with 30+ dishes in front of him when he was finished. He would order a few at a time. He was a younger...

    Original Pizza Hut

The one I frequent looks like that on the outside but is just a take out now. I have no idea what they did with all that space from the dining room and salad bar.

I don't remember the exact amount but it was well over $200. It was at Fulton's in Downtown Disney. you're offered $25k to permanently move to the home directly opposite you would you accept?

HECK NO! In 2019 the house was foreclosed on and a flipper bought it. When he went in he found the skeleton of a man who had died 10 years earlier. His brother had lived with the corpse all that time and just left when the house was foreclosed. He didn't get charged with anything when they found...
