    Sad little crab cakes returns!!

Kevin's first review of the Coral Reef was on the 8/8/06 podcast: The audio is here: Roundtable 8/8/06, Kevin's review starts at about 14:53. Also check out Keven's sad little photo. Len.

    Online Check-In is here!

I was able to check in online at around 8:30 EST this morning. It will be interesting to see how much time it saves when we arrive at OKW next week.

Rate the Grocery-Delivery Services - GARDEN GROCER

We used them in May'08 on a trip to OKW and were happy with the quality of the food and the prices. Based on what I had read on these boards I was expecting them to deliver our groceries directly to the room, so we hung around waiting for their call. When they did call they told me they had just...

    twisney.com

I had a lot of fun using twisney.com when we were at WDW last month. My original thought was just to let the folks at home know what we were up to, but now that I'm home I also have a play-by-play record of what we did during the week. As Pete would say, "Very cool". You can see my posts...

HS Toy Story Mania: [Merged Threads]

CF-- Another quick question: I saw a post on another site that implied that there was a separate Fastpass on this ride for wheelchair guests. Did you happen to notice anything like this? Len.

HS Toy Story Mania: [Merged Threads]

Cheshire Figment, Thanks for the great description of the ride. I hope I can get to ride it when I'm there next week. Do you know how many wheelchair accessible cars there are and assuming they are all in use how long it will take for the next one to cycle around? Len.

is one dvc more popular than another?

Crisi has it right. DVC did a survey a few years back (before SSR opened, I think) asking members which was their favorite DVC property. Something like 80-90% of the respondents picked their home resort. Len.

An open letter to all our friends

Pete, Yesterday I was reading the "Favorite Bob Memory" thread and many people mentioned the time Bob brought empty Dole whip cups to the podcast. I've been on the boards for quite a while, but I'm a fairly new podcast listener. I was intrigued, so I downloaded the file (1-May-07) and...

Multiple ADR cr@p mentioned on show

Disney has already solved the problem. On the Magic and the Wonder they only allow passengers a limited number of reservations for Palo, so they require your stateroom number when you book. Eventually people found a way around the restriction: Two couples traveling together would each use...

Multiple ADR cr@p mentioned on show

I wouldn't mind a credit card guarantee, especially for the signature restaurants, if I were getting a real reservation. They may have changed the name to ADR, but it's still only a priority seating system. When I show up at the podium I'm just put into the queue with all the other PS guests and...

Is it really ok to laugh at BAWB??

I generally agree that the teasing is all in fun, and Bob understands what is going on. I do think, however, that John's "Go lick the window" comment crossed the line. I just sounded mean and condescending.

Bob - You missed the chance to correct Kevin's pronunciation!!

Years ago I heard Boston radio talk show host Jerry Williams take a call from someone who said, "Hi Jerry, I'm calling from 'Pea-body'", to which Jerry immediately replied, "No you're not", and hung up. Len from Framingham (with a long 'a')

    The Alaska Cruise

We used our points for the HAL Alaska cruise last summer. At the time I booked it I posted some info on using points vs. cash in this thread. I also posted a mini-review when I returned on the HAL board at cruisecritic.com. Search for the same user name. Len.

    Cat 5 vs Cat 6

For some reason, on our last cruise the total price for a Cat 5 cabin was only $2 more than the price of Cat 6. It must have something to do with the remaining inventory at the time we got the quote from DU. After much discussion, we decided to spring for the upgrade. Len.

    Holland America DVC cruise

Pain free, yes. At least so far. But "pain free" is not the same as "free". I know that I probably could have saved a few hundred bucks by planning earlier, doing more research and shopping, renting out my points and using the cash, etc. But at this point the convenience is worth it for me...

    Holland America DVC cruise

Specifics? Sure... We are sailing on the Zuiderdam round trip from Vancouver in mid-June. This is the "Glacier Bay & Tracey Arm" itinerary, and includes cruising the inside passage and port calls in Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan. I chose this over the Seattle departures because those seem to...

    Holland America DVC cruise

I recently booked a Holland America Alaska cruise for June using our points. We've sailed three times on DCL, but never on HAL so I can't speak to the quality of the food or service. I hope we're not spoiled. I second the recommendation to check out cruisecritic.com. They have boards for all...

4.2 fixed the problem. I've been using this tool for a very long time, and appreciate all the work you've put into it. Thanks again, Len.

DVC Point Calculator v4.2 Now Available!

Yes. Columns R and T are correct. Column V - "Points Borrowed" is the one that seems wrong.
