If I were to do a resort only trip it would have to be AKL. We stayed there twice. 1st time just the 2 of us and did not leave the resort on quite a few days. I say it is a vacation within a vacation. That's if you are interested in African wildlife. If not, then I would suggest Beach Club...

I can't understand why they don't just build independent DVC resorts. Why cramp things up at POLY and GF (too late for that one) ? As others stated, the monorail is already cramped and jammed up not to mention other issues. My question to Bob would be "Why not build a beautiful DVC Island...

We requested Tahiti 1st fl Lagoon View and were placed in room 1030. Exactly what we requested. Was a very private and quiet area with a nice view of the Castle & monorail and close to the MK boat. View was terrific! Granddaughter could walk down to the beach and play while I sat on our patio...

I wouldn't do it either. Even if it was a longer stay. We did split stay once on an 8 night trip and was really sorry we did. Unless it was a two week or more stay...then I might consider it.

If I remember correctly, when we stayed at AKL and took the bus from AKL to MK it took about 25 min w/o any stops, so I would say maybe 15-20 min by car? I don't know about HS but if I had to guess I would say about 10 min. Someone else here will know for sure I'm sure. ;) I don't think...

Why is Disney doing this???!!! Really? The Poly and the other monorail resorts should be left alone IMO. I think there are going to be a lot of very disappointed people after all is said and done. Like I said in my previous post, build a "NEW" DVC resort.Adding to the others will be a mistake...

If they do follow through with these plans for all these DVC bldg.'s and such, don't you think the POLY will lose its quiet, relaxing and laid back feel that all the POLY lovers love? It most definitely will become way more crowded and with a 5 story bldg...well...doesn't seem like that will...
