I would sell now, to get out of the neighborhood while your home value is still high. Buy something in a safer place, as close to current house price as possible. Make sure you can meet your expenses, but I think it's time to "get out while the getting is good" in the case of your current house...

I got the surgery done in September at the Wilmer Clinic, one of the top laser eye centers in the country. It cost $5300 and it was worth every penny to have it done there and to have 20/15 vision after wearing glasses since third grade (I'm 29 now)! It's awesome.
