anyone a pro with scholarship stuff?

I am the director of a school for students with autism and am currently reviewing resumes to fill a teaching position. It would be barely a blip on my radar if I saw 2 years at a community college on a resume. I don't care at all if someone lived on campus. Never thought to ask.

    Marble Rye Episode of Seinfeld

I have two questions. Is a noodle salad the same as a pasta salad or macaroni salad (both are the same to me)? I never heard the term. I'm curious how one words an invitation asking people NOT to bring something or indicating that the food and drink is covered. I assume when I get an...

    Downton Abbey

This new season begins about 2 years after the rape took place, so that won't be the story line. Although, that would have been interesting.

    At MCO now....missing luggage question

I've never used ME. But, once they did pull my bag. I had a yellow cover on the handle, so I guess in their haste they grabbed it. No ME tags on it at all. Luckily between the airline and ME it showed up in our room.

    Another WWYD

This is my reaction. If I found out a school employee was somehow sharing test scores or grades on individual students with other parents, I'd be through the roof. How do you know all the kids who got into the advanced class came from 1 class? Do they publish class lists? When my DD is...

    accepted practice?

:wave2: I'm originally from Scranton and my DH is originally from Dunmore. We have to go back every now and then just so he can get a hoagie from Cara Mia's and I can get pizza from Maroni's in West Side.

Teppan Edo wants to charge me $22 for my food-allergic, 9 year old's meal!

That sounds like the price for an adult. As you probably know, Disney "adults" are 10 years and up. Is it possible he's an adult on your reservation?

Does anyone use the term "cancer victim" anymore?

I don't particularly like the word survivor in my case because I was easily treated (thyroid removal). So, if it comes up I simply say I had cancer.

    Bedtime for you Teen?

Well, my 14 year old daughter and I are watching Saturday Night Live together right now. On the weekends she's allowed to go to bed when she wants. But she has to be up early on Saturday for dance and Sunday for church, so she's learning to manage that. On school nights it's usually about...

    Advice, anyone deal with infertility?

I've struggled with infertility for the better part of 2 decades. The PPs have summed up the emotions, so I won't go into it any more. Suffice it to say it can be almost debilitating. If I were you I'd make my excuses the day of. I'd say I got a stomach bug or something. Because she wants...

Did anyone not have fibroids removed?

I hadn't heard of it either, despite being to several doctors for my extreme bleeding. My current GYN recommended it in order to avoid a hysterectomy. I am so very glad I did it. The procedure was easy and the recovery was just about a week or so. Now, I have very normal cycles and have kept...

Did anyone not have fibroids removed?

I had a uterine artery embolization and it completely eliminated all fibroid-related symptoms. Wish I had heard about it years ago.

    MVMCP: a history question!

Our first party was in 2004, I think. It definitely was after 2002. The first time we went they cleared the park, so they were not doing wristbands in 2002.

Crazy/funny things that happen at school...

I actually use the Seasons of the Spirit curriculum, but it's lectionary based, so we probably had the same story on the same week.

Crazy/funny things that happen at school...

Not school, but Sunday School. I have a 1st grader in my class who last week I couldn't convince that the Abraham we were talking about was NOT Abraham Lincoln. She even asked the pastor to be sure I wasn't pulling her leg.

I wanted to like this show so badly, but I just didn't find it funny or entertaining.

What will happen to our autistic children down the road?

In that case, let's discipline away and get better public funding for it.

What will happen to our autistic children down the road?

Excellent question. We should ask the poster I quoted who said autism could be managed with discipline.

What will happen to our autistic children down the road?

Perhaps you could give an example of how to provide discipline to help a 10 year old child speak who currently does not.
