What would you recommend for 4 twenty-somethings?

20-something DH and I just returned from a weekend trip. We enjoyed Raglan Road and Flying Fish for our table meals! :sunny:

Epcot International Food and Wine Festiva Dates?

The dates should be the first weekend of October to the middle of November. Last year, reservations for F&WF events opened up at the end of July or very beginning of August. Hope that helps! :sunny:

    Monorail Drink-A-Thon

WLL - definitely, I will be back with a trip report and lots of pictures. :) Oooh, you probably know this; is there a lounge anywhere at the Boardwalk? :sunny:

Timing: Dinner @ Flying Fish & Wishes

Thank you for the insight! :sunny: We love Illuminations, but we've seen it about a bazillion times and have never seen Wishes. We are staying at BWV so we'll probably try and get down to FF around 6:45 or so. I agree with you, we definitely don't want to rush our dinner, so we'll try and...

Timing: Dinner @ Flying Fish & Wishes

Good morning everyone! Can someone please weigh in on the timing/logistics of my potential plan? Next weekend we are heading over for our 2nd anniversary and on Saturday night we have reservations at the Flying Fish at 7pm. We would like to go see Wishes at the Magic Kingdom after that...

    Disney's Potent Concoctions (Drinks!) Thread!

Here's a picture of me drinking a yummy raspberry martini at Mizer's Lounge in the GF. I don't remember the name of the martini, but it's made with Chambord and is quite tasty - not cough syrup/candy sweet. :drinking1

    Adult Only Venue

Just wanted to add an additional thumbs up for Jellyrolls! DH and I (mid-twenties, no kids yet) go there at least once on every trip and we always have a great time! There is always a wide age range, but no kids since it is 21 and up. Definitely good times! :sunny:

    Champagne at Lunch?

I agree with WDWGoofeeee - I am almost (like 99.9999%) certain that you can get any sort of alcohol you want at any time of day other than at magic kingdom (where they don't serve alcohol at all). I know for a fact that the Grand Floridian dining establishments serve alcohol and I can't imagine...

    Help with saving

I have been using ING for a couple of years and like my3kids I've had no problem with them. They are a regular bank just like any other, are FDIC insured, they just operate primarily online rather than bricks & mortar. You can't beat the interest rates! :sunny:

    Tell me About Tampa!

Nope, no basements in the Tampa area. Elevation above sea level here ranges from 0' - ~52'...you'd hit the water table if you started digging for a basement! :sunny:

    Ribs in WDW

Also, Flame Tree BBQ at the Animal Kingdom has ribs. :sunny:

Helping Teens (and Young Adults) Learn About $$$$$!

Honestly, I don't remember how much I got in HS....I just remember college and it was more, because it was scholarships divided monthly and included money for rent, tuition, living expenses, etc. Probably the best thing to do is a) decide what you want your child(ren) to be responsible for and...

    Could someone explain...

Yeppers, you're right on. You can exchange two table credits for a signature dinner, but those are the only exchanges that are allowed.

    Could someone explain...

The dining plan gives each person 1 table service, 1 counter service, and 1 snack for each day that the plan is purchased. All of the restaurants you've listed are considered table service, so no it probably wouldn't be a good savings for you. The counter service and and snacks would likely...

Helping Teens (and Young Adults) Learn About $$$$$!

Steph - I was reponsible for clothes, makeup, entertainment/social things, "personal" care (shampoo, soap, lotions, etc.), gifts for friends for birthday/Christmas, savings....ummm, I think that's it. I know that I was *not* responsible for "regular" food (only if I was going out to eat with...

    Tell me About Tampa!

I live in Clearwater, which is due west of Tampa, and I've lived in the Bay area my entire life. Do you know where in Tampa you or your DH will be working? That would help me point you in the correct direction for housing. You can PM me if you want. :) Meg

Helping Teens (and Young Adults) Learn About $$$$$!

Great thread! Well I am closer in age to a teenager than actually having teenagers hehe! (I'm 26), so I'll share what my parents did with me. Starting in 9th grade (I think) my allowance (which I, too, never got for doing chores...I did chores because I lived at home) was increased to...

skilled at last minute trip planning

I agree with Pooh - go ahead and book your ADRs now. You should be well withon the booking period, so I would take care of that first. Next, I would look on WDW's website and see what attractions are going to be closed, to determine if that's going to make a difference with what parks you go...
