    Fort Wilderness questions

I can't comment on the rv, but we use Tee Time carts for our golf cart rentals. They are fantastic to work with. Happy camping.

How strong is the WiFi / Using a WiFi monitor camera

We did this in October. Instead of buying a camera, we left an iPad camera turned on and used the Manything app (which is free btw). We had no problems with wifi signal. It worked great and gave us both peace of mind.

Thinking about moving to a pet loop

Most...if not all...premium loops are pet loops, but I'd definitely call and add that to your reservation. There will be some barking, but it's not constant...typically when you walk by an rv with dogs inside. I know ours typically bark when someone walks by, but it doesn't seem to bother our...

Options for tonight if Fort does not open

We are able to check in tomorrow. We were on hold over 2 hours trying to make it happen, but we got it!

Do you keep your pets in your camper?

Disney may not...but other campers may. One can certainly hope so anyway.

    Hurricane....ugh

I wouldn't cancel. NOAA has it north of Orlando by 2:00 pm on Friday, so while there may be some rain on Friday and Friday evening...I think it's gonna clear up by Saturday. We will be driving down on Friday and arriving on Saturday too. We are excited...rain or shine! Happy camping!

Do you keep your pets in your camper?

We take our fur babies....it definitely depends on the time of year and how long you are away from the rv. We are going in October and will leave them in the motorhome. We leave on the AC, a fan, AND leave a window slightly open. We also leave the tv on for them.:-) We go to the park in the...

newbie here...need help! Another ? added

First off renting a golf cart is so much fun and very convenient...I highly recommend it, but I would rent off site (if possible) because it is much cheaper. This is what we do. Florida weather is...shall we say...unpredictable, but you are going at a great time. For the most part the days...

    Ft Wilderness Beach?

Thanks Ms Flo. The fence looks nice and I agree it keeps with the Fort theme. :)

Favourite time at the Fort? Christmas or Halloween?

Both are great!!! Early September can still be pretty warm and early November is when the Food and Wine Festival marathon take place. It's a pretty busy time. Out of your two options, I'd choose November (even with the marathon) as it is also during Epcot's Food & Wine Festival...which is one...

    Camping with Dogs

We crate ours while we go to the parks. We typically take a mid-afternoon break back at camp, so they're not alone from morning to midnight. My husband insists on leaving the tv on for them. ;) They're ok with it.

The open October 2015 pre-trip report

No, Honey (Kidatheart), we don't need the turbo...we need a nice, slow ride.

    Segway Tour at Fort

We've done it twice and would do it again! Then tour guides are great! Beware of your other group members...one time we had a mother and daughter pair that wrecked several times. We had to learn to stay out of their way!

    Campground Etiquette?

As a Florida native....I will say prepare for ants as well as other insects. One year we were at the the Fort with our children, and there was a family in the same loop who let their children run wild. They called the boy (probably around 7) "Gangsta." I can't tell you how much fun that was...

What Kind of Christmas Music Do DIS Campers Listen To?

I grew up on Elvis Christmas music...I was literally an adult before I knew there was anything else. Now, we listen to a variety - everything from the classics (Bing and Frank and still Elvis) to new stuff, Buble and the Transiberian Orchestra. I'm with you, though, in saying that there was...
