What's new in past 3 years?

My family (DH, DS 14, DS 12, DD 9 and me) are visiting WDW from October 19 - 24. Our last visit was October 2007. Is there an easy to find out what new attractions have been added since that time so we know what not to miss? Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions based on my kids' ages? (We...

Folks in Northeast Indiana ~ Where do you fly out of?

Try driving to Dayton, Ohio and flying on Air Tran. Most of their flights to Orlanda connect through Atlanta, but they usually have one direct flight per day. The airport is North of Dayton, right off I-75 and it's about a 2 hour drive from Fort Wayne.

    Renting car seats????

Most car rental places rent them, but the price is ridiculous. The last time we did it, it was $40 - $50 to rental a car seat for a week, so we decided we would just drive to wal-mart and buy a booster seat for $25! In the long run, it didn't matter though because our rental minivan had built...

    Opinion on stateroom for 5

We are a family of 5 and we just cruised in June. Our kids were 3, 7 and 9. We got a Cat 4 stateroom and it was fine. For our cruise, it would have been about $1000 cheaper to get 2 connecting Cat 8 or 9 staterooms BUT we really wanted the verandah. We sat out there at least an hour or two...

    Wetting the Bed

I think the beds already have a waterproof matress cover. My 6 year old wet the bed for the first time in his life on a Disney Cruise -- with all the excitement, I forgot to have him go to the bathroom before he fell asleep. Anyway, he woke up wet, and when I stripped the bed, I noticed that...

Will we have room to move?

We just stayed in a Cat 4 with a family of five, and you'll be fine. The murphy bed does block the verandah door (though we got really good at climbing over it at night without stepping on the child sleeping in it!). I would suggest leaving the Murphy bed up and putting the pack and play in...

    Mickey Pool/fountain

Truthfully, on our cruise in June, the special fountain ear was the only place in pool that was not ridiculously crowded. The Goofy pool was packed solid...I would not even let my older boys go in there for fear that they would be trapped under water. My 3 year old DD is not a water baby...

    Mickey Pool/fountain

We cruised in June and my 3 yo DD (who is potty trained and could go in the rest of the pool) actually preferred the "fountain" ear. The rest of the pool was so crowded with rowdy older kids that she was happy to be with the "babies" in the special ear. I wasn't worried about viruses at all...

    How safe is Nassau?

We were just in Nassau on the June 5 Wonder and had a very positive experience. In the morning, we took the Nassau City Tour and had a very nice driver. At the various places we stopped, the vendors simply asked one time if we were interested or told us what they were selling. We just said...

grandkids / late seating and fun?

The kids can have fun in the clubs at all hours, not just the evenings. To let the kids experience the clubs once or twice in the evenings, you also might consider feeding the kids at at the buffet or by room service, then taking them to the clubs and having a quiet dinner without them. We did...

    Fridge in room at Contemporary?

Yes - we were just there in June (North Wing) and had a fridge. You kind of have to look for it though...it's behind a door in the dresser! It's small, but as others have said, it will hold a half gallon of milk and a few other things if you remove the shelf. Sharon

How do Starwood upgardes work at Swan/Dolphin?

I'm thinking about booking an upcoming trip at the Swan or Dolphin and I've never redeemed Starwood points before, but I think I have enough for a free upgrade. Can someone tell me how this works? Do I book the cheapest room I can find and then contact SPG to try to upgrade? Or do I have to...

    Studios w/ daybed at BWV

I was reading somewhere that there are some studios at BWV with a daybed that will accomodate 5 if the 5th is a child who will fit on the daybed? Is this true? How does one go about requesting these rooms? Thanks, Sharon

    Worried

Don't worry. These resorts are great. Personally, I prefer the theming of the BC, YC and BWI better, but when I can get a room at the S/D for about half the price, it's an easy decision for me to pick the S/D. Sharon

    Anyone Recently Back From CR?

I was just there JUne 9 - 12. Stayed in North Wing, and there WERE parts of the South Wing that had guests staying there. The front desk CM mentioned something about having smoking rooms in the South Wing and when I asked about it being closed, he said that only parts of it were closed...

    3 year old and Flounders

On our recent cruise, the counselors in FLounders often brought the kids to the Oceaneer's club for activities. For instance, during the "do-si-do with Snow White" activity for the 3-4 year old group in the OC, the toddler girls from Flounders and their counselor came over to join in the fun...
