We did this same thing - used the Rome Short Escape as a way of trying ABD, and it really was perfect. We were busy and enjoyed the other guests and have kept in touch with a few other couples. But we added on another week on our own, and I was glad to have time with the group as well as a...
I second this - I would have a hard time spending 3 days at Universal. I could do two if I didn't have the express pass, but with it, I could easily do both parks in a day. And 3 days is definitely not enough for WDW, so use the extra time there.
This is terrific advice! Thank you! I was thinking of wearing a simple gold wedding band instead of my diamond wedding ring, and this helps me make that decision.
Haha true. But I will most likely bring another backpack for the part of the trip when I'm off on my own. We're extending our...
This is a silly question, but we're going on a Rome Short Escape in a few weeks, and we received the box with a booklet and an ABD backpack. Do people use these on the trip? It's not super heavy duty, but I'm sure it could be handy. Just curious. TIA!
My husband and I are going on the ABD short escapes Rome trip in June. I'm so excited! I've always wanted to do an ABD trip, but the expense was always prohibitive. But now that the kids are grown, we can go just the two of us. I love that it's a short escape - lower cost, and it's perfect for...
Just one more word of warning - from personal experience! A few years ago we arrived at AK about 25 minutes ahead of rope drop and there were so many people in front of us that we didn't get to do what we had wanted to get there early to do. When we went last month we took an uber and made it to...
IMO, you are sacrificing a lot for your breakfast. If it were my family (which I realize you may have different priorities), I would rope drop HS (arrive by 8 am) to ensure you would be able to ride most of what you want to ride. Then you could make lunch reservations somewhere fun, so that you...
It’s a small number of people (200ish) and it will not impact your day in any way.
Have a great trip!
Okay, thank you so much! I will stop freaking out. :)
Just checking park hours before we leave tomorrow, and it says that there is a "special ticketed event" at MK on Sunday from 7:45 - 9:00. What in the world is this? We are only at WDW for three days, and Sunday is our MK day. We are planning to be there at rope drop - and we are staying onsite...
Our family of 6 adults will be at Disney next week for just four days. Because our trip is so short, we are planning to take an uber to the parks in the morning so we don't waste time waiting for a bus. Which is more ecomonical? We will need an uber XL because there are six of us. Would a Minnie...
So excited to be headed to Disney on Friday with DH, DD22, DS24, DS26, and soon-to-be daughter-in-law. My sons are both 6'5". Which rides are going to be the most uncomfortable for them to ride? Cramming those long legs in can be a challenge.
I read somewhere that Pinocchio Village Haus was going to switch to a buffet in the evenings. Does anyone know if this has happened yet? My daughter and I love the Caprese Flat bread! Thanks!
My family will be doing rope drop at HS on Saturday, May 12 in hopes of getting on TSM. With all the construction going on, I wasn't sure what the quickest path is to the stand-by line, and I sure don't want to waste time looking around or getting stuck at a dead end. If anyone has been there...
When I took my mother, I did my best to minimize walking, and we used the train when we could to get around the park. It gave us a chance to rest and was a great way to get from one area to another.
