Have you been to Grand Canyon and surrounding area? If so...

We visited the National Parks this past summer. We flew into Vegas--flights were economically priced/as were the rental cars! We stayed 2 nights in Vegas--saw Cirque Show Ka. Incredible! From Vegas, we went to Zion--definitely recommend the Narrows hike in the river--it is slippery, but...

    Tell Me About NorthFace Fleece

For those of you that have/wear them: Are they warm and worth the $? Having so much fun getting teenage DSs to wear coats:sad2: I thought they may go for a NorthFace fleece--since they are not bulky. I was looking at the Apex Bionic fleece as it seems to be a bit water and wind proof...

    Car Insurance for new drivers

My son is taking driving lessons through a local/private driving school--they also have a skid school that he will go to this winter. I think there will always be a chance that he may drive my husband's or my car--so limiting his coverage to the 3rd car may not be wise. As for the...

That is a good point--we have been wondering about that.

Refinancing with cash out for college costs

Thanks! I think your example helped explain my question better. In refinancing, we would be able to lower our rate, and for a small increase in monthly payment get cash out which we would be able to put towards college costs. I heard form other parents with college age kids that scholarships...

Refinancing with cash out for college costs

What is the "Maximum" and is it based on financial need, therefore it differs per student? What are the interest rates on student loans?

Refinancing with cash out for college costs

With the mortgage rates at an all time low, curious if any parents are refinancing their mortgages and taking cash out to help pay for college costs? I have not looked into college loans yet, as our oldest has 2 years to go before college--but I would imagine that refinancing with cash out...

Air travel from New England to Yellowstone

You are right!! I think I've come to this realization too--I think we will be dropping the SD portion of the trip and may just stick with GTNP and YNP for next summer. We want to enjoy YNP while we are there--hiking, western cookout...and I'm looking into 1/2-day kayaking on Lake Yellowstone...
