    Journey to the Center...

It does take courage to drag yourself out of bed early in the morning during what is supposed to be a relaxing vacation. But when you have a 5-minute wait to get on Space Mountain...you'll know it's worth it. You can always go back to your hotel for a nap and a swim in the afternoon.

    Journey to the Center...

Day 3 - Magic Kingdom What's the earliest you've ever awoke on a Disney vacation? What's the best meal you've ever eaten? Have you ever done something at WDW and thought to yourself, "This is either the most brilliant thing I've ever done in my life...or the most idiotic?" Those were...

    Journey to the Center...

Day 2 -- The Space Coast What's your favorite non-Disney attraction in central Florida? How frequently do you venture off-property for your vacation enjoyment? For the first time in our lives, we decided to do this on Tuesday (April 7) by going to Kennedy Space Center. It was sunny but...

    Journey to the Center...

What's your philosophy towards Illuminations? Do you find your spot a good two hours ahead of time and park it for the night? Or do you tour WS as much as possible and grab a mediocre spot (usually standing) in the last 10-15 minutes? Last year we did option one. This year, we didn't feel like...

    Ouch! Tough jab.

    Journey to the Center...

We arrived back at CSR in time for lunch, which was going to be at the Pepper Market, the unique food court/cafeteria at the resort. I'd heard nothing but great things about this place, and our first meal was not a disappointment. I had a simple cheeseburger and fries - nothing fancy, but the...

    Journey to the Center...

Thanks. I'll try a photo from the GM showroom at the end of Test Track: (Doc Brown voice from Back to the Future): It works! It works!

    Journey to the Center...

DAY 1 -- Epcot What is your Disney Sleeper Pick: the attraction that you were not expecting much of, but which turned out to be excellent? On the other side: what is your Disney Dud, the attraction that you had heard great things about but which fell flat? We saw both of those on our...

    Journey to the Center...

We'd heard similar things about the business/convention aspect, but did not notice it to be much of a problem. Maybe because it was Spring Break for nearly every school district in America? Certainly just about every district in Michigan. My kids are in elementary school, and I teach high...

Thanks. The Odyssey is one of my favorites.

    Journey to the Center...

I'll try to post pictures, but I need to learn how. I can't seem to find the right instructions on inserting a photo into my post. None of the FAQs seem to help. Coronado Springs did turn out to be a very good resort, as I will mention in further posts. But our first impressions were somewhat...

    Journey to the Center...

How important are first impressions? How much time do you truly spend in your hotel room? Are all Disney resorts created equal? These are some of the questions we pondered as we checked into Coronado Springs on Sunday night. We'd never been to CSR; we didn't even know what it looked...

    Journey to the Center...

We've gotten closer and closer to that philosophy: picking and choosing the most important things to see instead of trying to cover everything. Alas, while Toy Story Midway Mania was on our list of things to do, we never made it. Certainly next time.

    Journey to the Center...

Cast of Characters: Me -- Jim. My first trip to Disney World was in 1983, shortly after EPCOT Center opened. I just did the math, and this was officially my 12th time there. DW -- Ann. This was our 10th time to WDW together, the first time being our honeymoon in 1993. Most times we stayed...

    Journey to the Center...

Sing to me, O Mickey the Muse, of the many twists and turns our family took on its most recent trip to Walt Disney World. Sing of the triumphs, tribulations, interminable lines and wild rides. Sing of victory and defeat, of wake-up calls that came earlier than the busiest workday back home, and...

Best place to watch the NCAA Championship Game

I suppose this is a good problem to have, but... We're scheduled to arrive at WDW tomorrow evening and spend Monday at Epcot. We have reservations for Garden Grill at 4:30 p.m., followed by a fun evening of strolling around World Showcase. However, a wrench has been thrown into our plans...

Just back from 3/19-4/1 stay...a few observations..

We're going to California Grill next week for the first time ever. What do you recommend?

    Universe of Energy Questions

We've never been on the Universe of Energy -- at least, not in the last 15 years. We have not seen it since Ellen and Bill Nye joined the show. Would kids (ages 6 and 8) like it? Does it need to be seen first thing in the day to avoid horrendous lines? We'll be there on April 6 (Spring Break...

    Question about Downtown Disney dining

We have reservations to see La Nouba in April. What would be a good choice for a family of four for dining after the show? We'd be eating around 8 p.m. and - according to our schedule - we have one table service credit left on our dining plan. I've heard good things about Raglan Road. Would...

Biscuit's Grand Adventure | An epic tale three decades in the making!

This is a fun report, and I want to commend you on the excellent David Copperfield reference. However, I don't think Dickens ever described something as "put a deep-fryer in your drawers hot" (then again, there was that one moment in Tale of Two Cities...). Nice touch.
