We loved it overall! Stayed from 8/25-8/31...our first stay here. Second DVC stay ever (OKW last August). Only two early disappointments. 1) Our one "request" was unavailable...1BR Downtown Disney view. We arrived around 3:30pm so this was initially not a great start as we thought it...

Haven't been here in awhile, but thought I'd add my two cents as we'll be visiting SSR for the first time Aug. 25-31st. SSR is our "home" and we're very much looking forward to this first stay. As we're visiting at a slow time, we probably could have picked any of the on-site DVC resorts...

I'm curious too... This is my nephew and fiance's favorite getaway spot. So much so that they're having their wedding and reception there next September. They love the beauty, serenity and first class service they've experienced there and wanted to share it with family and close friends on...

Hi everyone...great talk here! I personally feel tipping is a very much appreciated "thank you" to the housekeeping staff whether it be a timeshare, motel, hotel, B&B, etc. They are all doing the same job and likely none make much more than $5-something an hour. We made our first trip "home"...

ArnyVee & disneydiva58...you guys are good! I'm new at this and, of course, we had grandparents with us this trip as well as the three of us requiring a 2BR. Even in August I needed to borrow 2005 points for a 6 night stay at OKW. I just don't see much possibility in the near future of studio...

Wishing you luck with your change of plans. We lucked out sneaking our week vacation to OKW in between Charley and Tropical Storm Gaston (followed us up I-95 to NC). I think it was a wise choice, however difficult. Suzy :earsgirl:

I admit it...we finally pulled in to Pedro's this past Christmas...and pulled right on out again! It was kinda sad as most everything looked "out of business" and had seen better days. I remember passing this as a child in the early 70's and wishing Dad would pull in. My sensible parents...

Glad you had a great trip! We also just returned from OKW and agree it's fantastic. Though we had a car we only used it occasionally...HoopDeeDoo was easier to drive to (thanks disboards for the directions...easy), off-site to SeaWorld, take-outs from Olivia's one night. We could have done...

Have a great trip! I'll say a prayer hoping that Frances strays off course. We just had Tropical Storm Gaston follow us up I-95 into North Carolina on our way home from OKW back to NJ. Seeing the few accidents that heavy rain and wind caused was enough for me! As you've heard many others...

Having just returned from our first DVC stay at OKW (we own at SSR) and having made a quick visit to SSR to look around, my opinion would be to try OKW first (especially since it is your "home" resort). I think your children would have a safer biking environment minus the construction and...
