My understanding of the 1000 point upgrade is that you can only do it within 5 days of your trip. You HAVE to wait until 5 days prior to do so, or up to check in. They will not allow you to buy a points upgrade if the hotel is sold out. We actually cancelled a reservation for a few weeks back...

The YC/BC and the Boardwalk are going to be more than $200 a night for sure... at the Dolphin you stand a pretty good chance of finding a discount rate. There are all sorts of specials lots of times. As for the bad reviews... everyone is entitled to their opinions, but there are plenty on these...

The Yacht Club/Beach Club, the Swan/Dolphin and the Boardwalk are all within walking distance (or Friendship boat ride) of Epcot, and MGM too for that matter. It is a great location. We have stayed at the Dolphin twice and were thrilled, even though, with our young kids, we go to Epcot the least.

Feeling a little nervous about my upcoming reservation at the Dolphin. Both the S and D are sold out for our dates (May 17-22) and I am wondering how crowds at the hotel might be. I know that a lot of this could be convention related, but on our pervious trips the hotel was never full...

We are going May 17-22 and contemplated a resort switch from the Swan/Dolphin... and there are only a handful of hotels that are NOT sold out. The S/D is totally sold out as well... so even with no apparent "reason" for big crowds, I am concerned as there are very few available rooms. :confused3
