People requesting to move from CSR due to pool refurb

I had looked at CSR when I booked back in December for our August visit, but saw the construction plans and opted not to go that route. We wound up booking POFQ instead and I think it was roughly the same price. If it was more, it was minimal. It seemed POFQ had the same things I liked about CSR...

Port Orleans vs Animal Kingdom Lodge - Help?

Hi everyone, Right now my family is planning to visit Disney in August and stay at Port Orleans - French Quarter. The main attraction to staying there, for us, was the pools. My daughter will have just turned 5 and loves to be in the pool and on the water slides... especially in that August...

Coronado Springs or Caribbean Beach in July?

Thanks! Definitely looks like another option worth checking out!

Coronado Springs or Caribbean Beach in July?

We are trying to plan a short Disney trip in July. To save a little money we are looking at the moderate and value resorts. With a five year old daughter who loves to swim a pool with a waterslide suitable for her and some good dining options are fairly important. We really like the Caribbean...

    Poly to Contemporary Very Early??

We are staying at the Polynesian this July and looking at doing the Chef Mickey breakfast one day. In our first version of our plans we were looking at a relaxing day this day, with a late 10:30 breakfast time. We are quickly realizing that our daughter (turning 4 soon) does not believe in the...

    What is the Monorail schedule?

It is probably just me, but I am having the hardest time understanding this one. What time does the monorail begin to operate in the morning? Specifically the resort monorail since we are staying at Polynesian in July. I saw the Disney site that said 30 minutes before parks open, which looks...

Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show w/ Toddler?

We have booked our visit to the Polynesian for July and are very excited! As we look ahead to some dinner options, we are debating the Spirit of Aloha dinner show. We will have our daughter with us, who will be just past her 4th birthday. I saw one thread from 2012 with a couple responses, but...

    Scuba Aulani

I am following this one. We are looking to do Aulani in 2018 and would definitely want to get at least one day of diving in!

Thoughts on Nassau (Stay on or Get off the Ship)

I am one to always get off the ship and explore, but my wife is typically more willing to stay on the ship and enjoy the pool. I have done snorkeling or diving trips in Nassau in the past but I think Atlantis would be a good take for you. I don't think the bus ride is that long and the resort is...

    Bringing water?

I always ordered it ahead of time and had it waiting in my room. Yes, it is expensive, but a cost we were willing to pay for the convenience. A quick fax a few weeks before we left and a case of 24 bottles was in our room when we walked in.

Best Parks for 4 Year Old?

Wow. Thanks so much for all the quick replies! I definitely understand how different one 4 year old can be from another... being a teacher I see it every day! This is very helpful, though. Hollywood Studios is absolutely rising on our list since she is a big Disney Jr. fan... very obsessed with...

How bad are crowds Easter week? Am I crazy?

One side note to keep in mind... That week following Easter is school vacation week in New England states and many families/teachers choose that week for a Disney trip. So our last day is Thursday and then the vacation begins with Good Friday. Will 6 states impact the crowds that much...

    Palo, Remy or both?

I have not done Remy, but my wife and I did do Palo for dinner on the Fantasy and it was amazing! We would absolutely do it again. I forget the exact dress code but I think they have it on the web site? I feel like I saw it before we left somewhere. Anyway, I do highly recommend Palo!

Best Parks for 4 Year Old?

Okay... I have a feeling the easy answer will be "all of them"... but I think I need a little help prioritizing since Magic Kingdom and Epcot are the only parks I have been to in recent years. Yes, I am planning to visit Disney this summer with my wife and our daughter, who will have just...

    Resort After Sailing... Check-In?

Hi Everyone, We have done two Disney Cruises in the past, the 7 night western Caribbean and the 7 night eastern Caribbean on Fantasy. Both times we stayed at AKL two nights before and had a Magic Kingdom day. Now we are thinking about doing the 3 night Bahamas cruise on the Dream and staying...

    Polynesian Room Choice? Or Other?

Thanks. All very helpful. I think our situation is very similar, GADisneyDad, keeping the schedule on track for our daughter... so the TPV room has that big appeal. Especially with the summer heat, I am sure there will be limits on park time and plenty of resort time... with naps and normal bed...

Fly Home The Same Day Cruise Ends?

Agree with the others. As long as your flight is noon or later, you should be in great shape. We have done two cruises, the eastern and western, and we were fine on time both times. Not only do you get shuffled off quickly, but DCL makes the transition to the airport pretty smooth and easy.

    Polynesian Room Choice? Or Other?

Hi everyone, I am looking to book a trip to Disney World for my family this summer. I somewhat dread the idea of doing Disney in the summer with the heat, but it is really the only time that fits our schedule. In any case, let me give some background info. My wife and I will be traveling with...

If you were in charge of DCL, what would you change?

First, let me say we have enjoyed both Fantasy cruises with our daughter (age 2, then 3) very much since listing changes can look like being unsatisfied or complaining.... but.... 1. Lower the max age at Nemo's Reef and insist parents watch their kids there. Too many 8 and 9 year olds running...

So, how many people have you convinced to take a Disney cruise

We just did our 2nd cruise and did convince my parents to join us... with the experience with their granddaughter the main selling point for them. For us it was the benefits DCL offers for toddlers. Our daughter loved it when she was two and loved it even more this summer at age 3. We just feel...
