    runDisney Announcement

Apple Fest Weekend is looking mighty good now! Hmmm....$48 race entry fee, one of the best organized events in the East, Runners World highly rated, low crowds, AND....Apple Crisp when you finish. Score! Disney has just saved me thousands of dollars. I've skipped it for two years due to...

    runDisney Announcement

Wine & Dine will now be during Jersey Week :( and coinciding with the last weekend of Food & Wine Festival. I've been there many times for Jersey week (don't go anymore due to crowds). If you thought it was hectic or crowded for opening of Food & Wine....then be prepared for much higher crowd...

Disney is refunding our less than satisfying California Grill meal!

Thank you for eloquently stating exactly how I feel!:thumbsup2 Also wanted to add that Cali Grill is actually not my favorite or even near favorite Signature Restaurant on property. For my time and money I prefer Bistro de Paris, Artist Point and Citricos.

Disney is refunding our less than satisfying California Grill meal!

I guess my issue is this, I have the opposite problem. If I go to a restaurant and a heaping plate of food is laid in front of me it actually makes me lose my appetite. I prefer smaller size entrees of high quality food. It's why I choose to not eat at certain country style chain food...

What Sports teams do you hate

I don't actually *hate* any team nor would I ever say I find any one teams' fans obnoxious. There are certainly rivalries among teams, and that makes games exciting whether in High School, College or Professional sports. I just don't like to stereotype fan types because I happen to have many...

    I stumped the doc! Yay?

I read your post and immediately thought "tendonitis" before reading further. I've been down that road and it totally stinks because it's a really tenacious injury, but one that makes you feel like you can keep going. I battled through it and did the marathon back in 2007 but it was not pretty...

    Mud/ Obstacle Course runs

The idea of running covered in nearly frozen mud and getting electric shocks does not make me happy and so despite being asked to be in no less than 5 different Tough Mudder teams I won't ever do one. Boy are they popular, and I've been told by the mudders that they are harder than running a...

    The Occupy Disney World Protests

Freakin' hilarious. The world at large is so darn serious and depressing....VERY nice to get a good laugh today. Occupy on OP. :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

WISH'ers walking, running and "other"ing in 2012--General Discussion thread

Just another thought on the Galloway method, or any form of run/walk. I've done both, run an entire race as well as use a run/walk method. I've had years when I was plagued with injuries and the Galloway concept got me through the races. I'm a personal trainer, cycling instructor and cyclist...

Random Thoughts from our Adult Wine and Dine Adventures around WDW last week

Thanks for the picture! :thumbsup2 I like that it's "to go" and perfect for watching Wishes from the beach ;). I'll give it a try. I can tell you that the Jalapeno Margarita is not "spicy" so to speak but it will kick your butt in terms of alcohol. That is one strong drink!

Random Thoughts from our Adult Wine and Dine Adventures around WDW last week

The Jalapeno Margarita was not spicy at all...but extremely flavorful. Not slushy style, on the rocks. How is the Habanero Margarita served? I had NO idea they had them....if it's on the rocks I'll grab one! :thumbsup2

Random Thoughts from our Adult Wine and Dine Adventures around WDW last week

Yes...I would suggest waiting to drink until after marathon weekend although we aren't good about following that rule LOL. Are you guys doing the full or half? Is this your first time doing the WDW Marathon? It's so much fun. We'll be running the half this year! Have done the full, half and...

    Is Yak and Yeti good?

We actually had an early lunch here recently and found the food to be decent and the service excellent. We had two different managers check on our table during the lunch and a very hard working server who was extremely attentive throughout the meal. There are a lot of nice menu options for...

    Disappointed at Kouzzina

I'm glad to hear that not all reports are poor. We truly LOVED our meal there a year ago and raved to many people about it. It even made our top 10 restaurants at disney thread with perennial favorites Le Bistro and Artist Point. Unfortunately the abysmal service we received a few weeks ago...

    Disappointed at Kouzzina

What ashame :(. I wish I could say our last experience with Kouzzina was great but it was FAR from that in terms of service. We ate there a year ago and the food and service were both outstanding. A few weeks ago we decided to make ADRs for breakfast at 10:45 am. We showed up at 10:40 and...

When can you call yourself a runner?

I just wanted to add that a wise person said something to me earlier when I was discussing this very topic. I said...how can I call myself a runner if I can't maintain a marathon pace faster than 10 mpm? Doesn't that just make me a "jogger" which honestly feels like a dirty word in the running...

When can you call yourself a runner?

According to the online dictionary: marathoner - someone who participates in long-distance races (especially in marathons) So yes sir Windwalker! I think I stated earlier that we are all endurance athletes (which encompasses marathoners) in my estimation anyway. I'm not an elite athlete...

When can you call yourself a runner?

:thumbsup2 Love it! I know that some purists (especially on Runners World forums) don't believe in the "run/walk" method but Jeff Galloway is unquestionably a running legend, a running coach and an expert. His method has allowed a LOT of people (myself included) to be able to compete in...
