Where do DVCers vacation … outside of DVC?

We've been very fortunate to own DVC and take our kids while they were growing up - they're all in their 20s now. They learned to read a map, navigate transportation systems, and manage money. Not intentional, but they learned some decent life skills at WDW. DH was a consultant for many...

    Inexpensive LoungeFly backpacks?

I found a new Beauty and the Beast one in a pawn shop. Brand new - had the tissue paper intact. It's mostly white, and you can see the rose with a falling petal through a clear layer. It was $39.99. ETA....apparently it's a pin collector bag.

    Inexpensive LoungeFly backpacks?

Thanks all! They're for kids knocking about....not really for use in the parks. If it gets abused a bit (kids!), I won't care so much because they were not expensive!

    Inexpensive LoungeFly backpacks?

Is there a place to get a Loungefly cheap? Do the the outlets have them? I'm not terribly concerned with having a particular pattern. TIA!

Where to stop along the way?

I'm not sure what you like to visit, but there is Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA (not far from DE) and Winterthur Museum in Wilmington, DE. If you go further, Baltimore has lots of stuff at Inner Harbor. It would break up your trip nicely. DC has all the Smithsonian Museums. Safe...

Any NY/NJ dis’ers that can help a girl out with airport advice? Budget in mind!

PSA on TTN airport: We used to live 20 minutes from the Trenton airport (now live in Daytona Beach area), and we have flown out TTN to MCO. If the TTN flight gets cancelled for any reason, you're stuck. There is no second flight of the day....you're waiting until the next day. Because of...

    Jewelry insurance?

Late to the party here...I am a bookkeeper for a jewelry store. Jewelers Mutual is the company they recommend for insurance. Not sure of premiums as I don't have anything insured, but I see the claims come through for loss/repair. They're pretty easy to work with from my standpoint.

Spa Pricing....OMG....I must be living under a rock!

My sister and I have done massages at Saratoga and Mandara before. I will say that the last massage we booked was pre-covid in October 2019. Covid kinda put a dent is more recent travel that involves us being comfortable enough to book a massage. It could be that going over $200 is a mental...

Spa Pricing....OMG....I must be living under a rock!

I was looking at a hot stone, but I still have a problem with $180.00 for 50 minutes. At least I'm living under a nice rock... I can live without the massage. I can find better ways of spending $180 x 2 plus 20% tip....$432.00 can go a long way in entertaining my sister and me.

Spa Pricing....OMG....I must be living under a rock!

I wanted to book a massage for my sister and me when they're down in August. We did it about 5-6 years ago when she was pregnant with child #3. It was a premium, but manageable. I just checked prices at the Grand Floridan and nearly did a spit take. $210.00 for a 50 minute massage. I'm not...

Disney Vacation just for the resorts

We've sorta done this....but only for a day. We'll go for an overnight, with parks on the first day and nothing scheduled the day we leave. We live about an hour away, and I'm not rushing home! The last time we did this was right before Easter. We booked a late breakfast at Steakhouse 71 at...

    Adult Kid Easter Basket Ideas

My Pop started this for my and next oldest sister when youngest sister was still getting real/plastic eggs (there's a 14 year age difference): He hid jelly beans in the house for us! So, a yellow jelly bean went in a daffodil, black jelly bean on the black phone, pink jelly bean hid near...

Which is better for a first-time owner who won't use their points one UY, Renting or Transferring?

I'm a 20+ year DVC owner, and I rented my points for the first time last year. I had to make the reservation on behalf of the renter. Those reservations showed up on my dashboard. I used the DVC Rental Store, and they were wonderful and easy with which to work. If you won't want to rent...

OMG....22 year DVC member, and I'm blanking on borrowing points!!!

Thank you!!! I'm not crazy about the use years and the borrowing. We generally don't borrow. I could ask about a June honeymoon. The wedding date is not set yet, so June might work.

OMG....22 year DVC member, and I'm blanking on borrowing points!!!

I can't believe I can't figure this out....DH says one thing and I'm not sure he's right. Here's what's going on: Our use year is June. DD is getting married in Spring 2024, and we offered our points to them for their honeymoon in Aulani. It will use all our yearly points. My sister and...

Well, we completed our first RCCL cruise...it was "okay" but not ready to book another...

We've sailed the Magic twice, Fantasy once, and Dream once. I felt the size of the Jewel was more akin to the Magic. My mom's husband and the soda bit, yes, he could have gone to a bartender. We mentioned that. He didn't want to do that. We decided that was his issue. I mentioned it as...

Well, we completed our first RCCL cruise...it was "okay" but not ready to book another...

No they're not, but they were was specific to us. We joked that the cruise was doomed because of all the random things squeezed into the few days from the time my family drove from NJ to FL and we got on the ship. Thankfully, the cruise itself was uneventful.

Well, we completed our first RCCL cruise...it was "okay" but not ready to book another...

Actually, it was a train wreck leading up to the trip. There were spa booking issues (separate thread), and we never booked anything at the spa. Three of my 4 nephews were on antibiotics; the antibiotic filled in FL was just the powder...we had to get purified water to mix it ourselves; my...

Well, we completed our first RCCL cruise...it was "okay" but not ready to book another...

I would like to thank everyone who responded to my drink package question and my comments regarding booking the spa. They were all very helpful for this cruise. We sailed on the Jewel of the Seas Nov 6-13. I would have posted earlier, but my Pop stayed with us this past week. Of course we...

I am not a fan of the RCI website....or the entire cruise line at this point...

Thank you for all the replies. We cruise this Sunday, and I'm hoping it will all go well. We have no reservations for anything. The spa never worked out, so they don't get my money. I keep checking the app, but nothing is updated. I know that will change once we board. I'll bring a dress...
