    Debt Dumpers 2021

Wow here we are in 2021! I have read this type of board each year and have really been amazed at all of the big things that people are able to accomplish. I thought this would be my year to see if I can do big things too. About me-I have been on this site for a long time. At first it was to...

    Dress pants for large thighs?

I have the same issue. I typically can find a good deal on Curvy Fit dress pants at JCPenney. They have several styles that you can try to see which one looks the best. I find the Curvy fit works for me without going up a size and looking dumpy.

Eating out of the Freezer/Pantry for January

I am trying to work hard this month to basically eat out of the freezer and cabinets. My plan is to only buy fresh stuff as we need. I have plenty to eat up and my goal is to shave $75 off of our weekly grocery bill. Which I plan to buy Disney gift cards to save for our trip in October. I am...

We all have those kinds of hiccups. :scared: The important thing is to not loose hope. It is easy for me when things get tough to think that it is hopeless and forgo my debt reduction. But remember this is why you are starting this journey so when there is a problem you can deal with it a...

How much money do you spend a year on vacations?

Last year we went to see family in PA/NJ and did little side trips to DC and NY City. It was a world wind trip and I wouldn't have traded a moment for anything. That trip was about $2,500 because of fuel cost and didn't need but a few days of hotels. Money well spent. This year we are not...

    Debt Dumpers - 2013

I can totally understand the importance of balancing debt with Disney. If I had AP I would be using them as much as I could in the next year. I had the same issue as you did. I used to just pay minimums and keep on trucking. I was never behind on anything so that was good but I was just...

    Debt Dumpers - 2013

Life happens to all of us and before you know it the debt is high. We have all been there and some of us are still in the same boat as you. One good thing is that your life events have been great ones. When I started at the beginning of the year I paid the minimums on all of my debt and...

Taking in a Homeless Family Member *Update*

I feel for your situation. I am in a situation where my mom lives with us about 6 months out of the year. (In the winter she is in a senior area in Florida) So I do know what it is like to have someone in the home long term. My points are based on my experience and just some words of...

    Debt Dumpers - 2013

You have come so far with your savings this year. You should be proud and this is no time to have DOUBTS about yourself. You know the rules of the game and seem to have played everything just as you should. I hope that you get a good interest rate as I have seen them climbing up recently. It...

    Debt Dumpers - 2013

I am the same way. I feel better in my head if I have a trip planned even if it is next year! We are not doing a big vacation this year because I have some financial goals to get to by the end of the year. But we are planning a day trip to a water park (about a 3 hour drive away :scared:) And...
