Hi all, I'm excited to join this group. I'll be down Jan 8-16 to move my daughter down. She was recently accepted into the Disney College Program and she will be living and working at Disneyworld for this spring semester. I'm staying offsite and planning at least 5 park days, some alone while...

    "Inverted" Rope Drop Approach

Last February TP told me to go to Dino, Everest, then Safari, which is backwards from what I always do. I gave it a shot and they were right! We totally avoided crowds that day. We rope dropped FOP, then headed to Dino and found a nearly empty park. It was great.

How does this plan sound? Please advise!

I would suggest starting Magic Kingdom in Future Land and then working your way counter clockwise. Most people go the other way first, so this is a good way to minimize the crowds.

    Anyone use Cricket Wireless?

I just switched to Cricket Wireless and I'm looking for a referral code. It would give us both $25 off our service once I've been on for 2 months. If you currently have Cricket, open the app and click on the envelope in the upper right corner, then follow the links to get your code. They just...

Going to Mt. Rushmore-- WE'RE BACK! Day 5 is up!! page 10 Final Day!

We were there for a long weekend the last week of June 2008, the weather was beautiful. We wore jeans in the mornings (it was crisp and cool, probably in the 50's) and shorts and tank-tops by noon (probably 80's). When we visited Jewel Cave (the cave is cool) we wore jeans and lightweight...

Going to Mt. Rushmore-- WE'RE BACK! Day 5 is up!! page 10 Final Day!

We visited Mt Rushmore in June. We stayed in a hotel in Custer, it was much cheaper and we enjoyed it more than the town of Keystone (which seemed a little cheesey to us). We absolutely loved Custer State Park. Maybe even more than Mt Rushmore. Ask the park rangers where the buffalo have...

Anyone.. Where to get free music for ipods?

I'm another fan of the library. They have lots of CD's there. I guess you rip them if you were so inclined, my DS is 4 so we stich to the Wiggles and such - trust me after having the CD for 3 weeks, I don't want to keep it!

    Post Christmas toy reviews

We have the Leapster2 and my son (4) loves it. He got the Star Wars Game which is too hard for him, probably better suited for a 6 year old. He also got the Diego Math Game and it's great. The Tri-bot Robot is very cool for the $20 I paid. I would be very upset if I paid $100 for it. It...

Do you let your princess "dress up" at the parks

My DD always lives in her costumes. She has Minnie Mouse and Jasmin I usually put her in stretchy pants and a long sleeved shirt under her dress, or shorts and a t-shirt depending on the weather. That way if she wants to take it off, she can. She never removed her tiara all week though. I...

help gift ideas for a 6 yr old girl and 10 yr old boy

My DD 6 is also past the princess stage, apparently all the 1st grade girls say princesses are "so kindergarten". She loves High School Musical and Hannah Montana. I second the Cabbage Patch Kid or Lucky the WonderPup.

Black Hills, Badlands, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons Trip

For those of you flying into Denver. It would be worth checking out the City of Golden's Buffalo Bill Days celebration (usually in late July) and also Buffalo Bill's Grave (located just west of Golden on Lookout Mountain. Especially if you are a history buff.

OT - Anyone ever do a summer vacation in Colorado?

I'm from Colorado also, born and raised in the Denver area and I moved back about 2 years ago. I also lived in Glenwood Springs for about 3 years and I have a summer home in Lake City (SW Colorado). Everyone here has mentioned tons of great ideas. I think the question is what type of...

    Crowd Report

For those of you who have posted (or anyone else) did you have a plan when you arrived at the parks each day or did you just wing-it. Did you attend lots of parades/shows or major rides? What areas of the parks did you find were crowded? I'm just trying to figure out why there is such a...

    Any crocs discounts???

Thanks for the reply. I went to the mall to try on the Mammoth and I didn't like the way they fit me. I decided to get another pair of Caymens - Dick's had several colors on sale for $17.99 a pair. They had the Mary Jane's and Mammoth on sale also.

    Any crocs discounts???

Does anyone have a crocs discount? I saw the Disneyshopping one, but I don't want the Disney crocs. I really want the Mammoth (fuzzy lining) ones, but I may get a pair of regular ones. Does anyone know if any stores have them on sale or have coupons out?

Any other December Trip Takers Stressed?

I'm completely stressed about our trip. We leave a week from tomorrow and I feel like I have a million things to do. I was hoping that going down for the 10 days before Christmas would make December less stressful, but I guess I wasn't thinking that it just meant 10 less days to get all those...
