    TTMM...Is It Really Worth It?

Personally, I didn't think TTMM was worth the time, much less worth extra money for the pass. I'd rather be spending my first hour at DL in other places before the lands get crowded. The characters we saw there were the ones easy to see in other places or other times. I went to TTMM for the...

Your opinions on Ariel's Grotto and Blue Bayou

I agree with most of the posters that the food at Ariels was not good. I found it very bland. There are few menu options and most were very high fat. It might be fine for kids but not for me. I like Blue Bayou. The food is not to die for, but I was happy with it, particularly since the...

Los Angeles just hit by earthquake

Can you imagine the administrative headache of trying to refund everyone's money?!? I assume that attractions many did reopen later in the day, so how much would you refund anyway? WDW closes down many of its attractions and entire waterparks nearly every day in the summer time when the...

    FastPass Question

I read on this board over a year ago that use of the FP after the expiration time was an unwritten policy and have used expired FPs many times without a blink of an eye. During my trip last week, two separate CMs told me (without my asking since I already knew it) that FPs will be accepted up...

Los Angeles just hit by earthquake

Hey, did you see my DS? He was in Starcade playing DDR. He said the quake messed up his game. My niece and I were on the railroad sitting at the Tomorrowland station. You could tell many of us were thinking "This isn't normal for the railroad; this is an earthquake!?!" From my...

observations re orange county rental car rates

I've been watching the rental car rates from SNA (John Wayne Airport) and came across some interesting fluctuation in rates. For my brief Sun-Tues stay, rentals seemed to run $55/day + tax and up for most common name companies. I thought that was awfully high since I've gotten much less in...

    AP Questions & Visa

Just a thought for when to purchase your AP if you don't need AP discounts the first day or so and if you aren't staying onsight. Consider getting a 3-day PH, using the EE, and then converting it to a Southern Cal pass at City Hall. I don't think it would cost anymore. With the Visa, you would...

Nicest Hotel on Harbor for Anniversary

While I agree that the Embassy Suites is nice (although I'd request a room away from the noisy elevators) I entirely agree that it is much too far to walk. The places within close walking distance are more along the line of motor inns. Depending upon the conferences at the time, Marriott or...

Which DL Hotel is Best and Why?

Well I have to agree that if you want to do it right, go to GCH. It's the closest to the delux resorts of WDW. It's lovely, and the location is so nice. I especially love the rooms over the DCA entrance that look out over GRR. You can get soaked on GRR, and just a couple of minutes later be...

*WHAT* have you forgotten to pack that you *wish* you would have???

The worst thing I ever forgot were my APs. I was on the airplane somewhere above Santa Barbara when I had a flash  ; I checked my wallet and discovered that I had put in the WDW passes from the previous trip instead of my APs! I think it cost $50 to get 2 new replacements. Oh well! I...

    AAA tickets and free parking

Yeah, I think many of the AAA folks here in California have the DL benefits down pretty well, but seemingly less so the further away you get.

What are you looking forward to?

I'm looking forward to bonding with my great-niece and watching the joy in her eyes as she experiences DL for the first time. I'm looking forward seeing my son, an only child, be able to act the role of a big brother to a young girl much less fortunate than he is. Well that and Toy Story...

    AAA tickets and free parking

Even though AAA books their packages through WD Travel Company, I agree with PinkBudgie. The passes you get with the AAA package are noted as "AAA passes" with free parking at Mickey and Friend's parking garage. You show one of your passes each time you enter the garage, and they wave you through.

    Is this possible?

I would think that your mom and GM would only get one MM each with the 4 day PH,. Nevertheless, I agree with Matterhorn that it wouldn't work. The PH get's scanned when you first come in for the day. Subsequent entries to DL would require that you show the handstamp that you are required to...

Premium view at DLH or Standard View at GCH

DTD should still give you things to do in the evenings -- a late dinner, music, shopping, strolling, even a movie (although Feb is usually when all the worst movies come out). That's another reason to choose the GCH; its a bit more convenient to most of DTD, although the Dreams Tower is right...

Premium view at DLH or Standard View at GCH

Personnally, I would go for the standard room at the GCH, but I think it depends a lot on your situation. Especially in February, I don't think the view at the DLH will get you a lot. I wasn't all that thrilled with my premium view room at DLH the last time I had one. I didn't get my...

    August trip to disneyland

I'm hearing that crowds are lower than usual for the summer, especially compared to the past couple of years. The crowds were high for the 50th. Climatewise, you should find DL much more pleasant than WDW during the summer -- unless of course, you love humidity, 98 degree temps at 8 AM, and...

To Potty Train or Not...That is the question

I usually go during busy periods and almost NEVER have to wait. Disneyland bathrooms are plentiful! Know where they are ahead of time and you shouldn't have too much time finding an empty stall close by. The only exception might be when a big show (like Aladdin or Fantasmic) ends. Still...

It's soo hott in California :(

Yes, it's hot but -- - At least we have our natural air conditioner; it cools down a bit at night. Even though it's supposed to be 100 for the second day in a row in my area, it a lovely 70 degrees right now. - When it gets really hot like this, we know it will only last a few days - When it...

Driving from San Fran to Disney-good place to stay over?

My trips almost always involve a stop at Pea Soup Anderson or Harris Ranch. If we're in a hurry (as we usually are going down) we grab a cup of pea soup to go (either in Santa Nella when we go I5, or in Buellton near Solvang when we go 101).
