I just wanted to add my thanks and appreciation to TCD for all the GREAT trip reports that he's provided us with these last few years. It sure gave us enjoyment and information unavailable anywhere else on the web,;), courtesy of cousin Yuri of course. Keep those trip reports coming, all...

    Facebook response from Pete Werner

Thanks, Mayor! Maybe soon we'll get an actual explanation, so things can get back to normal.:confused3 I'm hoping it was just some kind of misinterpretation by the powers that be, and then shock at the "spirited" response. BTW Where has Scott been through all this? He is still listed...

How I ended up on the camping board - How did you get here?

Somehow I found the DISboards before our 2003 vacation at CSR, and mostly read on the resorts and theme park boards. Stuck around planning our 2004 trip, all the while not realizing there was a camping board. We are campers, but never thought about doing it for a trip to WDW. :confused3 Well...

2011 Trip report David & Teresa spend their 30th at the Fort.

Congrats on 30 years! Ours is coming up fast, just wish we could spend it at the Fort, too. Love your dogs, too. We have friends who've rescued 2 greyhounds- they are just the nicest dogs! Have fun and stay safe. (heard about the bad weather that went thru the area)

    Cooking and overall food questions......

When camping at the Fort, you need to think about one thing that as a tent camper you may not normally consider: electricity. Use the grill for that steak dinner, but for everything else, think small electric appliances. A crockpot, electric frying pan and hot pot (or electric tea kettle)...

    Two families, One RV.

There are lots of places to go and chill for a few hours, if that's what you want to do. Bring along your own folding chairs, and depending on what site you get, set them up on your own site and relax, enjoying the fresh air and nature all around you. Take a long stroll around the...

    Fort Coffee

Our solution for green hose water for making coffee (or anything else, really), especially for tenters who may not have any other source of water, is to use a Britta pitcher (or any other filtering device). Saves on buying water, too!

Proof The Rumors Are True!!! TCD Relocation Plans!

I have a feeling that this new resort, be it DVC or not, will have to have some sort of name unto itself. The "Villas at Fort Wilderness" would end up being a disaster as far as reservations goes. How many people have been given (or tried to be given) a ressie at Wilderness Lodge because the...

Proof The Rumors Are True!!! TCD Relocation Plans!

I have to agree with TCD on the layout of what I'll call the Southern Arc. If someone with the computer capabilities* can show that on the overlay, I'll bet the pool and other parts of RC would fit in between the two arcs. Plus, if you notice the main common building has what appears to be a...

    Fort Wilderness vows renewal?

Does Disney ever pre-empt the campfire/movie area for "special events"? That would be a neat place to do a renewal. At dusk, with 2 blazing fires going, and Chip and Dale as witnesses! Then head to the beach for fireworks in a golf cart parade. I think people could manage to decorate some...

Official 'Post a Picture of your Campsite at FW' Thread

Carol, I just love your T@b and the whole set up! I just wondered, How do you pack it all for travelling? It looks like you bring a lot of stuff. Is it recommended to load your tow vehicle or the trailer? We're tent campers (but I'm hoping for a small trailer some day) so all we know is...

    Hoop de doo Review

I think if there is a group attending the show, they may make prior arrangements. When we were there with our kids' marching band (we had about 120 people in our group) the band director was chosen for the "pink ballerina" at the end of the show. Somehow I don't think that happened by chance...
