Can someone tell me how to request a tower other than upon checkin? I'm used to WDW where you can note preferences on your online checkin, but did not believe there was a similar function at DLR. Thanks!

We were worried about this also. One thing we did was walk "band to band" so kids bands on right hand and parent's bands on left- that way their bands were always closest to us and helped to keep us secure in the knowledge that they were still in place. I also just pinched their bands...

For my fully loaded days. I do a lightweight backpack because it is just so practical. On days when I want to go light, I got a Vera Bradley Disney themed hipster. It carries a lot more than you'd think (camera, sunscreen, tissues, hand sanitizer, sunglasses, ex).

I echo the previous comments- skip DTD. It is a hassle to get to/from and is just shopping and some restaurants- in my book, it's not Disney, it's an outdoor mall.

This is so great! We are used to the 4-5 character rotation at WDW and can't wait to experience this.

We had already moved our September trip to August because I couldn't come to terms with not having nightly fireworks (and we are willing to brave the larger crowds for it thanks to Hydro guy's WDW vet post). These great reviews just help affirm my decision. Can't wait!

I agree with PP- make all of your MK FP's first. Are you going to try and do Enchanted Tales with Belle? If so, I'd do that in place of Jungle Cruise (and just ride that early). Also, dumbo line seems to move more quickly with the 2 units running.

We love touringplans.com and have used it every trip. One thing to keep in mind is what you'll do if you hit a morning attraction and the posted wait time is significantly higher than what TP says you'll wait (i.e. TP say Pooh is 10 minutes and there is posted 30 wait with visible long line)...

Boogie board. Lightweight and does not take up space- has variety of uses such as drawing writing playing hang man etc - it's basically a small lightweight etch-n-sketch with a stylus. Can be used during takeoff and landing.
