Love it. We make detailed iternaries and follow them pretty closely. With school aged kids, what I like best is having a good plan in place and then just following it. No dealing with kids arguing about what to do next, whose turn it is to pick the ride. Just follow the plan. I also get so...
We went to Coco. The beach was great. They had umbrella and chair rentals. We went to one of the state parks (Lori Wilson) and didn’t explore much of the town. Except for the huge Ron Jon shop.
So for the most part we did the parks and by the time we returned we were done for the day and hung around the Fort property. So we didn’t feel too removed but we weren’t going back and forth a lot either. MK proximity was great. I think the only park besides MK we left and returned to was HS...
We liked the cabins for our family of six with four kids. Liked that we could put the kids to sleep and enjoy the rest of the room and deck. I found the internal buses very prompt and reliable but it’s another step. For us having the kitchen really won out. We did breakfast in the room as...
But the cabins have four real beds - with one queen and a set of bunks in the bedroom. They used to have the Murphy bed which is much closer to a real bed to me than the sofa bed that replaced it.
I’d love to see more family suites with this set up (4 sleeping in the bedroom). I couldn’t see...
Having done both an on and off site trip recently I much preferred the offfsite. Driving to and from the parks and back for a break was easier than the buses. MK - with the TT center - was the only pain.
Otherwise for more than 50% cheaper for the room it’s hard to justify onsite.
I went last week on a night with a ticketed event so nighttime riding was out (and we wanted to see Rivers of Light). We arrived at 7:40 for a 9 am opening. Key was to make it before the Disney buses which seemed to be ariving around 8. We weren’t the first in line but once they opened the...
We are just back from a six night stay. Our first time at WBC and first time off property. Honestly I was blown away. The room (2 bd in Tower 3) was newly redone. Kitchen was fully stocked. Grills were convenient. Loved all the pools. The kids loved the free mini golf and activities. We liked...
We were there on Tuesday 4/17 and there was a fire emergency that day too. Interesting. Is that happening a lot?
We could only get a Na’vi FP so we arrived at 7:35 and we were off the ride by 9:05. They were clearly taking people early because we were not the first in line. By the time we...
Thanks for the perspective. I should add some details. We also have four kids (14 to 6). They love rides above all. They liked the Star Wars ride last time but I wouldn’t say they’re big Star Wars fans. They really liked RNR and TSMM. And the Light Motor show and the Honey I Shrunk the kids...
After seeing TSMM might be closed, I’m wondering if there’s any point to going to HS in April. We went in 2015 and a lot has closed since then. We will have regular tickets. I’m wondering if it’s worth an extra day or if we should do two days at Animal Kingdom.
We are looking to go in April (14th) The chart of Vacation Strategies says it's the first week of the value season. I recently got a quote and it was ok but more than the VS chart. Would you wait until the 60 mark? Will the prices get much better then? I'm looking for a 2 bed, standard is...
Thanks for the great advice. I looked more carefully at the next tier up options per your suggestion and I'm leaning heavily towards the Marriott Sabal Palms now. I think the kids would love the World Center amenities. Have you stayed there by any chance?
