I have a dilemna? Would you take a trip or not (story is a little long)?

Just wanted to add that I think you have made a wise decision. I also agree with some of the other posters that maybe you could start to introduce one or two other caregivers in to your mothers life now whilst you are able to be around and do it gradually. You never know if you may be in an...

Leaving Wheelchair Outside Of Restroom Stall, When The Wheelchair Stall Is Occupied

I have to say that I have often left my manual wheelchair outside of the restroom and there has never been any problem. maybe I have just been lucky. Sue

    uk blu badge holder

It used to be at the officer's discretion but I understand now that the sheriff's dept has officially agreed to recognise the european blue badge so there shouldn;t be a problem. (At least in Orlando - if you plan to travel to the coast that is different). I have been to Orlando three times and...

    Disneyland and San Diego Hotel

We have not long returned from San Diego. We stayed on hotel circle north and it was a great location, not too long to get to anywhere BUT do not stay at the Handlery Hotel. We used this through a Uk travel company and it was a nightmare for many reasons, if we go again we would book the hotel...

Quick report on recent experience at Disneyland

We have just got back from a fortnight in California of which we spent three days at Disneyland/California Adventure. Although we have been to WDW three times this was our first trip to the West Coast (we are from England). We did have a wonderful time but there were a number of differences...

    Disneyland GAC card?

There is a GAC at Disneyland but it is much harder to get than at WDW (unless it is using a stroller as a wheelchair). Taking the one from WDW will help but you will still have to persuade them that the problem could not be dealt with in any other way and that a GAC is essential for you to be...

    Temporary Help!!

However, you will often find that if you are getting in/out of a moving vehicle (such as haunted mansion) they may offer you an arm for balance - NOT to take your weight - if they see that your husband/wife is trying to help children. As Cheshire Figment has said they would only offer...

    Disney goals

We are heading to the west coast of USA for the first time having been to Florida three times (we are from UK). We have prepared a list of the things for us that are must do's inc. - ride all the things that are not in WDW - see the fireworks, for all our previous trips the kids have been...

    Has anyone changed there booking...

I believe that as long as the new price is higher by more than the amendment fee they are willing to waive it. If the new price is the same or lower they will charge it. Sue

VIRGIN DECREASE baggage allowance from 1st April

I am now seriously concerned. We fly out 1/4 and back 15/4 and I am relying on the higher baggage limit, I have just checked the tickets and they say 32 against allowance so I hope that that is what we get. Sue

Friendly reminder - daylight savings time on April 2nd

Ok can I have some help here please. We fly in from the UK Saturday afternoon so would normally wake up about 4am in the morning because of the time difference. So we have to put our clocks forward one hour when we go to bed so when we wake up at 4am the clocks will show 5am and we effectively...

    Wheelchair size questions

I use a manual wheelchair but only because my three (not young) children all fight for the right to push me and get upset if I suggest using an ECV. At home I don't often use a chair as if I am only in and out of the car and then sitting I do not need to. BUT i have three willing volunteers (two...

Question re guest services at Disneyland

Jen, Thanks I had heard that it was much harder at DL. I will just take my previous GAC from WDW and explain my problem and hope that they will. I will also take a book for sitting in a quiet corner and if necesary will go to first aid for a couple of hours so that the rest of the family...

Question re guest services at Disneyland

We will be arriving at the beginning of April and plan for Monday to be our first day at Disneyland. We will not be using early entry that day - is Disneyland the same as WDW in that they often allow people in to Main Square and hold them there for park opening in which case you can get to...

    Opinions on our plan please

I am now in the final stages of planning, we have three day park hopper passes with one early entry. We could do either Monday, Tuesday and Thursday OR Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Which would be best, which day should we do which park (we are thinking two DL and one DCA) and which day...

    Wheelchair Bags

We generally leave our backpack with the park maps, water bottles, wipes etc on the wheelchair but take all valuables (cameras etc). If the bag gets stolen it would be inconvenient but nothing more but so far all has been fine. Sue
