We thought it would be a great idea to surprise our 15 y/o boy/girl twins on Christmas Eve with a trip to Paris leaving 2 days later. We gave them a beautifully wrapped box with all kinds of French goods like a small Eiffel Tower, a beret, etc. We thought we were sooooo clever. They both...
I just got a very good GTY verandah rate for the 7 day Magic Southern Caribbean cruise. Paid $6300 vs. $9200 current rate for a high level verandah. I don't think any of the S. Caribbean cruises are selling too well.
We were on the Neil Patrick Harris cruise. He was great with great with everyone in the pool and very nice to my son when the rode an elevator together.
Thanks Bumbershoot. When I called RCL, they didn't make that clear. Good to know for the future, but for now, looking forward to see what a suite/concierge is like on RCL compared to DCL, which was always great.
I disagree about the availability of rooms for 4 on other lines. If you look at the new ships on most lines, the only way to sleep four if the parents want the big bed in the room is to have 2 kids sleep on a pull out sofa. Funny - but that's not really a popular idea with my boy/girl 13y/o...
It may not be as fancy, but the "new" Magic is a great ship. If you like that itinerary better (even though I much prefer the Fantasy itinerary), you'll have a great trip on the Magic. Besides, the Aquadunk is the best ride out there!
The bus to the airport is not a problem. The issue for the DCL transfers is the luggage. If you use DCL and you want to have your luggage go through to your final destination, DCL requires the flight to be no earlier than noon.
We have a family of 4 and always take DCL transport for one reason - the luggage transfers. Once we check our luggage in at our home airport, the next time we see it will be when we're in our cabin on the ship. On the way home, same thing in reverse. We pack quite a bit for a 7 day cruise and...
The problem is the wines aren't that great. We usually stick with the premium package selections, but when we go to Palo we always order a nicer bottle. They credit the average price per bottle from the package (I think about $40) towards any better bottle you buy. You can do the same in the MDR.
Our twins were 10 last year and we went to the Magic Kingdom the day after the 7 day cruise. Big mistake - they were dragging by lunch time. For us the cruise is pretty active and the kids stay up later than they would at home, so we won't be doing that again. However, in November we have a 3...
