What would you do... cruise without oldest child

Wow, you have all given me such good perspective already! The thought that our family vacations from here on out will be very limited, with him off in college, makes me want to try really hard to budget for the extra cost of bringing him along. I was really only looking at it like, he gets a...

What would you do... cruise without oldest child

So my oldest is graduating high school in May. He has 2 very best friends; they have been friends for years. One of the friends moved away to CA a few years ago, but he comes back to visit at least twice a year, the two boys here have been to see him in CA. They are tight. CA friend is coming...

Carnival vs DCL... I would not cruise CCL again!

Ahhh, that makes so much sense! My husband joked that we had "Ft Lauderdale Spring Break" at the table next to us on the beach at Cozumel. They were from our ship, and so so drunk as soon as they got there. Drinks were flying (literally- my son got hit by one) and there was screaming, drug talk...

Carnival vs DCL... I would not cruise CCL again!

TOTALLY disagree with this, in my experience. Off peak, 4 day cruise, DCL vs CCL. Night and day difference.

Carnival vs DCL... I would not cruise CCL again!

We sailed Dec 15-19 so it was not holiday time, same as our 4 day Disney Cruise. Nowhere was it advertised as a "booze cruise". In fact, carnival is heavily marketed toward families and kids, so I should not have expected this, in my opinion. Also, I did not notice an abundance of kids, just...

Carnival vs DCL... I would not cruise CCL again!

I went on a disney cruise last Sept. Loved it. But it was pricey. To save money and get my cruise fix, we recently went on a 4 day Carnival cruise out of NOLA. Two sea days and Cozumel. We LOVED Cozumel. I am not going to give a full review at all, just point out what we disliked about Carnival...

Question about "dietary restrictions ", GF options

I sailed on the Dream last September. Like you, I am gluten intolerant, but don't have to worry about cross contamination. I told the servers, and talked with the head server. They recommended that I order breakfast the night before, then order dinner at breakfast, etc. Most of the time, that...

We sailed on Labor Day in 2015 and it was fine. Awesome cruise!

Sep. 7, 2015 on the Dream

Well, I canceled our Sept cruise. For a 3 day cruise for just me and my daughter, I found I was able to book an entire week stay in a beautiful 2 bedroom condo, for all 5 of us, in the summer (no missed school), on the beach including food and gas to drive there. It was really eye opening. I...

Oh my gosh! I am on the one right before you- the 3 day from the 9th-12th. It's a mother-daughter and I don't want her out of school for a whole week again. My cruise group is dead too. I just don't get it! No other group is like ours! We so need to do a reunion cruise!

    Tips for Embarkation Day?

We received ours via email, I think. I was able to print it, fill it out, and bring it with us.

    Summer 2017 cruises?

Can we use June 2016 to estimate the cost of a June 2017 cruise? I am trying to figure out how to budget and what to expect price wise, so I can be prepared with a deposit. I am sailing in September but don't want to wait that long to book for June 2017.

Just wondering if Disney allows this.

How busy is it in June?

Schools in our area break for summer the last week of May. I expect the summer break crowds will start to fill in right around the end of May/ beginning of June. Our last day is May 22.

Disappointed not going concierge after concierge cruise?

Our first cruise was concierge, our second will not be. Concierge was amazing, yes, but the things that made it so, we will be fine without. For our concierge cruise we were at the front of the ship. For our next one, we will be right in the back. I figure Cabanas will be our "concierge lounge"...

All Things Go Pro on DCL & Sharing Pictures/Video

My hubby wore the GoPro on his head for the aquaduck, the dolphin swim at Blue Lagoon, and snorkeling at CC. The head strap is great for snorkeling because its hands free.

    Anyone carry a lanyard?

I don't use a lanyard, I use a small VB crossbody (that I purchased on board- Disney themed) to carry my cell phone for photo ops and on board texting with family. That is the only reason I carry my phone. I would prefer to be completely unplugged from my phone but I'd hate to miss an...
