    Wonderful Panama Canal Sept 2014

I will be doing a trip report but probably only posting it when I return as the internet connection tends to be frustrating on the cruise! I will be posting it to my Disney blog so will post here (have to check on if I am allowed to do that) and send you a PM when I publish! Could be an...

    Wonderful Panama Canal Sept 2014

Can't wait for Friday! I have been following the threads but haven't posted much for ages. Had some family issues to take care of so I really need a vacation now! I sailed last year on the Panama Canal cruise and it was the best Disney cruise I have experienced. Safe travels to...

    Wonderful Panama Canal Sept 2014

Driving in the LAX area is not easy and traffic can be very bad. But you do have to weigh that against the costs. There are so many places to see in the area between LAX and San Diego. It is so difficult leaving pets. We travel a lot so often have a house sitter or leave our dog with...

    Wonderful Panama Canal Sept 2014

It is very easy to get from San Diego airport to the port. It's only about a mile away and a taxi would be easy. LAX is not easy and a taxi would be expensive. Depending on traffic LAX to San Diego cruise port is around 2 hours. I live in between LAX and San Diego but will always choose San...

    Wonderful Panama Canal Sept 2014

There was definitely a lot to do. That's great that you sailed on the Wonder in May. How was embarkation in San Diego? We were there as we were meeting a crew member off the ship and it looked a bit chaotic!

    Gluten Free Question

They are very vigilant on the Disney cruise ships about allergies. They will take care of you. It is the place that we feel most confident about someone really understanding gluten allergy issues. I would suggest going to the Parrot Cay buffet when you board, simply because it is easier to...

    Wonderful Panama Canal Sept 2014

Unfortunately they were very strict about it for the Behind the Scenes Tour. You could take as many pictures as you wanted of the Galley, but not backstage theatre. That's exciting that you are building a replica in Minecraft. My sons are just getting into that and really enjoy it.

    Wonderful Panama Canal Sept 2014

There were lots of activities which are not normally offered. 2 of the best were the Galley Tour and Behind The Scenes at Walt Disney Theatre. It was very interesting to get to see what the kitchens actually look like! The Behind The Scenes Tour took you to the backstage areas - you even...

    Wonder dry dock

The Wonder will go into dry dock in Fall 2016. It was thought it would go earlier but the delay in the completion of the new locks on the Panama Canal has meant that it has to wait. The Wonder is the only ship which can sail through the present locks - the re imagined Magic is now unable to...

    Wonderful Panama Canal Sept 2014

Very excited as I just checked in and picked some excursions. This is our second time on the Disney Wonder Panama Canal cruise - we did the same crossing September 2013. If anyone has any questions then I will do my best to answer. Seems like a very active group here!

Panama Canal Eastbound Sept. 14, 2013--it'll be WONDER-ful

I have seen on other boards that some groups have a stateroom tour. Would anyone be interested in this? What we would need is just a few volunteers to allow their staterooms to be part of the tour and hopefully we would get to see most of the categories (Walt Disney Suite anyone)???? I...

Panama Canal Eastbound Sept. 14, 2013--it'll be WONDER-ful

The tours get priority and everyone else just waits in line. For Cabo there didn't ever seem to be much of a wait but we never get off very early. It is usually around 20 minutes to shore. Remember to take water with you - it is much hotter on shore than on the ship!

Panama Canal Eastbound Sept. 14, 2013--it'll be WONDER-ful

I booked to Hobby as well, months ago. It is so fortunate that I found this Board as I had no idea that they cancelled it. I thought maybe I had made a mistake and booked to IAH, but this confirms I am not the only one! Also my charges were $30 per guest and IAH is $45 so I guess this is more...

    PACKING TIPS - What's yours?

I really improved my packing skills when our family of 5 traveled by train around Europe for a month. Having to carry everything around made me realize how much stuff I used to pack but didn't need. Packing cubes are a must as they keep things so organized. The space bags are a really...
