A friend and I are going to try and hit all four parks in one day ...
Drive to MK for rope drop (Buzz, Carousel of Progress, People Mover)
Monorail to Epcot (haven't decided on two rides yet)
Skyliner to Hollywood Studios (Toy Story Mania & ???)
bus either back to MK to get car, then AK or bus...
I've bought multiple "Disney" bags, but I prefer my pink leather fanny pack overall. Doesn't hold a lot, but that's okay as I like to travel light. And I tend to wear it slung over my shoulder vs. around my waist.
Before ... we cruised with Disney 4 times, 3 times we went to the parks pre-cruise, the last time we went post-cruise due to cruising Thursday to Wednesday and not wanting to "waste" Thursday/Friday. We spent Wednesday and Thursday at the parks, but the teens were tired and cranky. First and...
2004 for Hurricane Frances. We were there for a land/sea vacay, left the resort, headed to Port Canaveral, board the Disney Wonder and sailed around the hurricane. We ended up enjoying a 5 day cruise for the price of a 3 day. Port Canaveral was damaged by Frances, so we docked at Port...
"Or even better, use a Tervis as their mug.
Imagine, a Tervis with Disney resorts on it. "
July of 2013 I took my family on a Disney cruise to celebrate my oldest grandson's HS graduation. I was able to order a Mickey Grad patch Tervis Tumbler for each of us and had them personalized. Was...
Prefer a mug with a handle, vs. a tumbler. But I've been disappointed with the mugs since they stopped being resort specific with the graphics changed regularly. We didn't even buy mugs last time ... I brought my Tervis tumbler and stocked the fridge with Pepsi bought off-site.
And as long as...
Used packing cubes last summer for a 5 day Disney cruise followed by 3 days at Disney. LOVED them. I too left my non-hanging stuff in the cubes and tossed them in the drawers.
We had this happen last summer ... hit RNR at rope drop and it was closed due to repairs. Hit ToT, when we were done my RNR was open and my granddaughters got in the single rider lane and waited and waited (45-60 minutes) ... eventually they asked a CM and was told that they wouldn't make it...
My teen granddaughter loves wearing her b'day button and hearing the CMs call out "Happy Birthday Princess." One year an older (retiree aged) CM got down on one knee, held her hand and sang "Happy Birthday" to her. She was embarrassed in the moment but loves the memory. :) she's also gotten...
Last trip I brought my DSLR with me, but only took it to the park (MK) the day my granddaughter was planning on meeting Peter Pan. Otherwise we just used the camera on our smartphone. One of my fav photos is a selfies she took with her phone of her and Peter.
Now if I ever get my grandson to...
Shopping in the Emporium with my granddaughter a CM (grandfatherly male) overheard me saying it was her b'day, and he got down on one knee took her hand and sang "Happy Birthday" to her. Naturally she was totally embarrassed, but what a great memory!
My grandkids did it years and years ago ... 12 years this coming summer to be exact and all three had a wonderful time ... they would have been 10, 9 and 7. The nine year old did it alone when he was 7 or 8.
My granddaughter and I usually do it. It's a nice ride and she loves the petting zoo (she was 18 y.o. last trip) and I loved being able to get my photo taken with Jiminy Cricket ... my fav character.
My DD went a zillion years ago (20+) with her marketing class, and I have no recollection of the amount of money I send, but I'm sure it was cash.
If my live-in granddaughter was going I'd send her with some cash and her credit card with a specified limit (she has a user card on my cc)...
I've done the party multiple times in the past and loved it, but it's been a number of years. My concern would be the ages of your kids and how well they do late at night. I'd definitely plan an easy day, day of ... hang out at the pool maybe, and sleep in the next morning if possible. And...
You know, it bugs me to have to pay to park period, nevermind tiered parking. I'm coming with my kids/grandkids and paying a huge ticket price for each of us, and on top of that I have to pay to park. One of the reasons I rarely go to Kings Dominion ... along with the awful drive down I-95 to...
Every time we go to Disney my now 19 y.o. granddaughter has to hunt down Peter Pan. We don't get his autograph any more, but I snap photos of her interacting with him, and she'll usually get a selfie with him. This is a layout from a few years ago ...
