No main dinning.. 2nd seating only.. Hubby wants to cancel!!

We had second seating with our 8 and 4 year olds, and it was perfect. As a result, we saw the shows earlier, which was nice. The kids usually went to the kids club while we finished up our meals, and that worked out really well for all of us as well. Our family is admittedly more of night owls...

    GoPro

We bought a GoPro for our first cruise, and we LOVE it. It depends on which model you got, but in general, yes, they're very simple to use. Just spend a little bit of time getting familiar with it before your trip, so that you know what each button does, and you have a feel for how it films. I...

NCL Bans Food Outside of Dining Areas

Really? That's weird. On our cruise last month on the Dream, I heard someone ask the CM who was greeting everyone as they entered the theatre if it was okay to bring in snacks and drinks, and the response was a very enthusiastic "Yes, of course!" This same CM was very strictly enforcing the no...

So torn, can't decide which cruise to book for late fall 2015!

I've seen your thread, it's very helpful! Do you mean the discounts that tend to come out after the PIF date, or do you think there's a chance that the rates would actually go down before then? My biggest concern is booking airfare. As we all know, prices tend to be higher on shorter notice, and...

What's your favorite verandah room category & location on the Magic, and why?

I'm considering booking a 5 night Western Caribbean on the Magic for our next cruise, but can't decide what room category to book. For our only cruise so far, we were in a 4A Deluxe Family Verandah, midship, deck 10, on the Dream. We LOVED the location, being so close to the pools and drink...

    Parking at port Canaveral

I think the only people who would even have the physical ability to break into your car would be other passengers, or people who work in the garage/terminal, since you have to pass through security checkpoints to get into the area where the garage is, and then have to also pay up front if you're...

NCL Bans Food Outside of Dining Areas

That would make me unhappy. I may want to bring my dessert back to my room to eat later if I'm too full to eat it right after dinner. And I may want to grab something from a buffet or quick service location, that isn't available from room service, and go eat it on my verandah. Or let my kids eat...

So torn, can't decide which cruise to book for late fall 2015!

That would TOTALLY be my first choice, but a 7 night cruise just isn't doable this fall on such (relatively) short notice. :(

Buy the trip insurance or not?

We didn't buy it for our first cruise, but we WILL buy it for any and all future cruises! Two days before our cruise, our four year old daughter spent the better part of the day throwing up, and we were terrified that she was actually sick and we'd end up losing out on our whole cruise, and all...

So torn, can't decide which cruise to book for late fall 2015!

We just took our first Disney cruise a couple of weeks ago, and loved it SO much that I'm thinking of booking another one for late November/early December of this year. But I can't decide what to book! The cruise we took was a 3 night (too short!) Bahamas on the Dream. The ones I'm trying to...

    Just Bought Travel Insurance......

The health questionnaire we had to fill out said it was specifically targeted towards Ebola, and it asked if anyone had a fever AND another sympton, such as vomiting, diarrhea, etc. within the past 48 hours. She hadn't had a fever (I was terrified and had checked!), so we answered "no" to the...

    Just Bought Travel Insurance......

I have never purchased travel insurance - I always thought it was a waste of money, and the slim chance of needing it wasn't worth the cost. We just took our first cruise last week though, and I will now purchase travel insurance for any future cruises we may take. We spent two days at WDW...

    Will we look silly?

You're doing something with your daughter that's going to be really special to her - it's definitely not silly. And anyone who thinks it is - well, maybe they need to check on their priorities. :) Now, I'm off to the Kohl's website to look into this myself. :D

    Magic bands?

Even if they don't work at any of the ports, other than perhaps Castaway Cay, I still think the Magic Bands would be awesome to have on the ships, to charge things to your onboard account, or open your stateroom door. I love using the MBs at WDW. It's awesome to be able to go to the pool without...

    Flight gets in 8pm

We usually get in on later flights, and there's NO way I'm dealing with my own bags if I don't have to. We just pack whatever we need for that night and the next morning for all of us in one single bag, which we don't put the Disney luggage tag on. We put the tags on all the rest of our luggage...

    Saling date disappeared...

If you're putting in more than three people, try putting in just two, and see if it comes up. There are a number of April dates that don't show up if I put in my family of four, but that do show up if I put in just two people. That just means that the rooms that hold four are all sold out or on old.

    Sail Away Drink Discounts?

Because I always second guess myself with stuff like this - what would you consider to be a "nice tip" in a scenario like this?

ALOHA! The Polynesian Resort Information Thread: October 2013

That's so funny, we're actually staying at Boardwalk Villas for two nights before our cruise! So we have two nights at an EPCOT area resort (BWV), a three night cruise, then two nights at a Magic Kingdom area resort (Poly). I think I'm more excited than my kids are, and I'm counting down the days!

Birthday girl? The Royal room at POR. She'll probably love the princess/royal theming.

Parks pre/post cruise or not at all?

I'm struggling with the same dilemma! We're going on our first cruise (3 nights from Port Canaveral), and the way the flight times and prices worked out, we're actually spending two nights at a Disney resort before the cruise, plus two nights after the cruise. Our plan is to spend our arrival...
