    disney cruise first timer

    1. Depends if you live up north and it's 20 below or you are in The south, but in general if your talking leaving from Florida, summer cruises 2. Fantasy by a small margin 3. Park then cruise it's a nice way to wind down. 4. 7 days are more relaxing no question... but for a first cruise 4...

    Taking kids off the ship

I think it's different like in your case where the parents aren't on board bc they've already assigned proxy guardian rights for the length of the cruise to allow the adult to take them out of the country and make medical decisions, etc.... But when the parents are on board you don't need to go...

How is the participation level on your cruise meet?

Agree it is sad to see, bc it's the new cruiser who probably reads up on the FE and then can't find anyone to participate, a day after earning my infractions trying to help a newbie out we had a huge spike of new members on the other site, sad that to try and "save" the CM they've gone and...

    Taking kids off the ship

The form explicitly says parent / guardian so unless grandma has legal custody it's still a parent who needs to sign. Yes it does state the adult in the room needs to grant permission but a relative can not give permission to take a minor into a foreign country

    Spirit airlines to tampa?

Thanks for the feedback, been going back and forth on this... a little more detail on the savings that I'm weighing out... Southwest to MCO one way is nearly $230 a person, the spirit tickets are $41 a piece... so for four seats thats only $160 vs. $920... even with the bag fees so three...

    Spirit airlines to tampa?

Looking at flights for the next cruise and came across an unbelievable fare with spirit that even with fees was much lower than others, but despite being a frequent flier with the major brands I've never experienced spirit... Any thoughts on those who have tried them for a cruise? I've read...

    Taking kids off the ship

No not a new thing this happened to us also when we had dd and ds booked with DGM... Actually received different answers at different times on if I as a parent needed to authorize my self...I amended up waiting until after we boarded and asked at guest services and after reviewing with security...

February 22, 2015 on the Magic?

Sad part is that this FE was probably established well before the "rules" were put in place and applied, so all the activity is probably happening over there, one thing to stop new ones from being created but tough on people who book late or last minute to get involved through no fault of their...

February 22, 2015 on the Magic?

Unfortunately they probably thought they left instructions on how to reach the page but all of those posts were probably deleted along with any post that was referring to the page... On an upcoming sailing there is an active dis page that was decimated by the post deletes that late sign ups...

    TA or book directly

If your TA releases the hold on the room you should be able to change your current booking into that same room... I wouldn't cancel a booking just for a room change...

    Neurotic Luggage Question

Agree the Hyatt is so convenient, if the thought of Hyatt staff mishandling your bags no matter how unlikely is a concern, I would just bring it downstairs and hand it to disney directly to save on the stress of worrying...

    Carrying on water and alcohol

Yes agree 100%. Our whole family keeps a bottle near by in the evenings... Not to mention the convenience in the ports, and the ability to have chilled water on hot days... For a lot of us its the convenance that matters... And as a bonus you'll have empty space in a carryon when things don't...

    Built-in Swim Diaper

Agree with this I think this would be the greater risk that by habit the child may forget, and that could mean the pool are is shut down for everyone for an hour as they drain sanitize the entire pool...

    Parking at the port (canaveral)

I personally don't see the advantage of prepaying as it doesn't get you in or out any faster, and what would be interesting is I'm not even sure how they would guarantee a spot for someone on the off chance it was full.... As far as being full it seems that it would be extremely difficult bc...

    TA or book directly

We've tried all the options like booking through a so called disney expert TA, book with through DCL, but now we skip all that and set Costco as our TA. Simply it's the most amount of savings, bottom line. Also when transferring say an OBB Costco doesn't short the cash card amount so you get...

    Non Existent Dress Code

I'm not going to try to disagree with you per se bc it is all individual opinion, but what's funny is the argument for both sides is that the vacation is about ME... Like how enforcing a dress code impacts YOUR magical experience or how some who don't want to dress up its bc its "MY" vacation...

    Buying sunscreen on board

Another option for your carryon liquids, since the op is flying in and unable to stop at a store for refreshments, if they had wanted to carryon alcohol they could use this space for mini travel size bottles of rum, wine etc.... And buy the sunscreen on board, bc the markup on drinks is way...

    first disney cruise

In the past when dcl was in Galveston the sailings didn't do to well to the point they modified itineraries and offered kids sail free etc.... Let's say they pulled out all the stops, problem was that most people sailing out of Galveston are Texans, and what they didn't take into account was the...
