The date I've heard is late October for guests. But there are already lots of magic bands floating around the hotels and parks. But you will be notified ahead of time if you are receiving a magic band. You will not be picking them up anywhere on property unless you were mailed one and lost it...

Yes if a hotel is overbooked they have to upgrade you or switch you to a different hotel. But if you're looking for an upgrade within your own hotel, the size of your party is a slight consideration

If you only have 2 people in your party, probably not. But as long as you have kids they understand you can never have too much space haha

Yes you could have a "Happy Anniversary," button and an "I'm Celebrating!" button. Check guest relations at the front of the park or stop by any front desk at a hotel :) have fun!

I definitely would not expect a magic band if you're arriving in August. Magic bands need a couple more months. Sorry :(

@luvdashore it is simply a DVC member appreciation party! Sometimes Mickey will make an appearance but they usually just have food and drinks and a special presentation. You won't miss much if you don't go, but if I were you I would check it out! The party is no more than an hour :)

It depends on what ship you're looking for and the time of year. My family has use the space available discount before. It is a tricky process and it leaves little room for planning time. I also know that no dates will be available for the fantasy for the rest of the summer.
