Lightning McQueen/Mater not showing on DL app

One of the biggest surprises on our recent visit is how INVISIBLE McQueen is in Carsland. We were in Carsland multiple times over 4-days recently You really only see McQueen in RSR. Saw Mater, Red & DJ multiple times. I love seeing DJ - but really? This is like coming to the MK & Mickey's...

NEW - DCA - Park Opening Strategy 4/6

Be careful. Last week it was an early morning for Hotel Guests. We were regular folk. Did 9 am RD. Stopped for Soarin Fastpasses first. By the time we got to TSMM the sign said 20 minutes....actual wait time was closer to 60 for my wife & 9yo. Rode Cali Screaming with my 14YO & a 15-minute...

    Park Vue Inn Review (3/21-3/27/17)

We stayed there 6 nights last week and absolutely loved it! 2 queens & bunk beds. Our beds were super comfortable. Rooms were very clean every day. LOVED staying in the back. A bit more of a walk - but NOTHING compared to WDW. It was so quiet too in the back. One of the quietest hotel...

Is the World of Color dining packages worth it?

Last week - with HUGE crowds - we got a blue FP early in the day. Showed up 65 minutes early & had our choice of spots on the bridge. Perfect viewing. So glad I didn't spend the extra $$$. Dessert Party does look awesome though if you have the cash.

Do you get wet on Splash Mountain?

We got soaked up front last week. Surprising to us because we never got that wet on SM at WDW. Asked for the back seats on our later ride and only got a little wet.

    Lightsaber

Ours was $35 last week but we had a couple of the extra Kylo-extensions.

Not that it matters at this point, but how bad ARE the crowds?

I had the same worry. Was there last week. RD! Get there 40 - 45 minutes early. First 2 hours of the day - amazing. After that use fastpasses effectively. Avoid Adventureland & Pirates area mid-day. YIKES! Rest mid-day. Come back for evening parade/fireworks/WOC & then late night rides...

    Insane Magic Morning

So true... Last week with the mega-crowds - we did so much better with this strategy. With the EE we did get an hour or so of prime ride time - with the opposite park strategy we often found we'd have two hours of prime ride time.

Side Trip Question (Horseback Riding & Desert visit)

On one of our non-park days in late March - I am making a side trip to take the family horseback riding. Looking at Sunset Ranch in LA. Anyone have a different recommendation? What's the best time to ride up in the hills to get clear(er) skies? Morning or afternoon? Also - has anyone...

Goofy's Kitchen - Brunch / Dinner Character Meal

I'm there with you on the whole dinner thing! On our arrival evening (before we start our 5 days of park fun) I scheduled a dinner at Goofy's to set the stage for the trip. Thought it would get the kids in the Disney spirit before I wake them up early for RD the next day. As I understand -...

    March 2017 check in thread!

Broke the news to the kids... We're coming the last week of March. Park Vue Inn. Excited to take my 14YO & 9YO WDW loving sons to their first DL adventure! Know it's going to be crowded - but if we are rope droppers who follow Touring Plans. Think we can survive?

Planning my first Disneyland trip in nearly 20 years... Anyone have good suggestions for Disney Blogs you can subscribe to? I do subscribe & love the DIS Updates I get sent to my in-box...but they seem to be WDW heavy. Yes - I know the great sites I can visit - but I love to have Disney Blog...
