NYC MAGIC FEEDBACK: would you do GTY (category 5a, deck 7)?

Hi All, I booked our second cruise — out of NYC, in November — while we were on our first Disney cruise at the end of last summer. It was right near "opening day," so I think our rate was good. Today, I am debating switching our current stateroom (a nice Category 6A room on deck 5, but with a...

Alcohol Option in the room on a Cruise?

Thanks, Maggie'sMom~! That would be doable, I guess.... tho my kids usually are in bed by 8 pm, and will probably be exhausted that first day, because we're coming from Disney World. :-)

Alcohol Option in the room on a Cruise?

Hey everyone: So where would the kids be if the Singles Mingle is held on the first night? I thought I read that kids' clubs hold open houses on the first night . . . .? Or is that earlier in the day, so they can be dropped off that first night? thank yoU!

    Four Seasons or Waldorf Orlando?

There are no kids' club fees for any guests of the Four Seasons in Orlando. It's free, as many hours as you like. (And no fees for the pool complex, either.) I factored that in when making a comparison between Four Seasons and Ritz-Carlton (which is a much cheaper room than the Four Seasons but...

"Frozen Fireworks": what time? I've heard both...

Oh, wait, I just noticed this on the Disney website's details page, for the Frozen Summer Fun Premium Package: "The dessert party begins at 8:15 PM from June 17 to August 20 and 7:45 PM from August 21 to September 7." Sounds like they will start the fireworks show at the earlier time — 9...

"Frozen Fireworks": what time? I've heard both...

THanks, everyone! We are planning to see the Frozen fireworks the night of August 30th. We have the "Frozen Premium Package" thing, which includes a dessert party and a viewing area for the fireworks, I think.

"Frozen Fireworks": what time? I've heard both...

What time is the Frozen Fireworks Spectacular at Disney Hollywood Studios? I've heard both 9 and 9:30 (which seems awfully late for little kids, the "Frozen" demographic). We're going in August, with the Frozen premium package thing. Thanks!

What's up with excessive amount of open houses at the kid's clubs?

As a single parent, pretty much the ONLY reason we are going on a cruise instead of to some fabulous resort for the same price is the kids club. The purpose of the kids club, IMHO, is to give kids their kids-only time and to give parents their alone time. I am not lacking in family time, either...

Has anyone taken the DCL bus from the Yacht Club?

Yes: Tell 'em you're leaving on a flight that departs around 11 a.m., so you are picked up by Magic Express at your resort around 8 a.m. Then tell DCL that you are arriving on a flight that arrives by 7 or 8 a.m., so you can hop aboard the first DCL bus to port, apparently (?) departing around...

port adventures in Victoria, registering for mixology classes, and Palo dinner

We love Butchart Gardens. See if you could have afternoon tea, with sweets, to make it feel more kid-friendly.

Help with doofus-y online-checking question? (room request issue)

Thanks you guys! I just realized that while the check-in I had to use via the DVC website only had the two options available, the "modify check-in" function on My Disney Experience allowed me to see all the different room-request options. Woods view, large balcony, etc etc. THANKS AGAIN, you...

Help with doofus-y online-checking question? (room request issue)

Thanks, Wdwiver! That's what I thought: pool view, large balcony .... those are the choices I read about on one of the DVC websites. How weird that I on'y have the two choices. Maybe it's related to the renovations? Harrumph. Thanks to you all!

Help with doofus-y online-checking question? (room request issue)

THANKS! Does it seem odd that there were only two boxes to check? ("Ground floor" and "Near transportation"?)

Help with doofus-y online-checking question? (room request issue)

Hiya: In August, we are staying for the second time at a DVC resort on rented points. I did online check-in today, and wanted to request "pool view" (or type in a request for "refurbished room, please") for our upcoming stay at the Beach Club Villas — but the online check-in only offered two...

Has anyone taken the DCL bus from the Yacht Club?

Someone on my cruise meet says he always does the double-bus trick: Magic Express to airport, then DCL bus to port — in order to get to the port very early. I'm leaning towards trying it. We have the first P.A.T. (10:30 to 10:45) and while it does seem to be a bit of a hassle, at least it's...

What's up with excessive amount of open houses at the kid's clubs?

I'm a single mom. This is our first cruise, me and my two kids. I planned to let DS and DD go to the kids' clubs so I could have some grown-up time or alone time (I've reserved a Palo brunch and a mixology with our meet-up group). Do you think the open houses could interfere with this? thanks!

10:30 P.A.T.—but how to get from Beach Club resort at that hour?

Hey Y'all: We checked in last night and got a port arrival time of 10:30 . . . but . . . is it even possible to take DCL bus from a Disney resort (the Beach Club Villas is where we'll be) and arrive that early at the cruise terminal? I'm thinking no. Just via private transport?
