we too liked the western ports better than the eastern, but there is a new eastern cruise this summer that we are taking. You go to St Thomas, San Juan and CC. this selection made us booked another trip. I wouldn't have done so with the usual Eastern cruise itinerary.

As the other responders stated, DCL will give you one towel per person to take ashore. However, we did bring beach towels, as the DCL are small. We hung them on the chairs on our verandah and they dried quickly. just another thought.

Last August we booked 60 days in advance and did get the time slot we desired. Theya re great fun. I wouldn't wait until you get to CC, if you want to be sure to get a ride.

I certainly hope DCL revisits and resumes the discount for retired and active duty military. I for one would pay more for my cruise if I knew that the extra went to defer DCL's cost of the military discounts. God Bless our service men and women!

FYI... on our 8/03 Western Cruise on the Magic, there was hair braiding available on the ship on our at sea days.

We were on the Magic in August, and I had my own hair dryer with me and never used it. the one in our room worked just fine??? I don't have short or thin hair and found no need to plug in my own. Maybe my dryer is an exception?????
