Vacation Central Florida- Windsor Hills- Review

Thanks so much for sharing. We, too, stayed at Windsor Hills (in August) and really enjoyed: saving money, being as close to the parks as possible without actually staying on property, the gated community, the pool, not having to eat out for every single meal. Another bonus for us was the fact...

Windsor Hills (via Florida Dream Homes)

Hey all! Just wanted to let you know what an easy, pleasant, fantastic experience we had booking a Windsor Hills townhouse (through Florida Dream Homes in Kissimmee.) The Windsor Hills resort itself is wonderful. We loved the beautiful pool and my son loved the little game room (although I...

Off site even with FD...Am I nuts?

We were actually thinking about doing that! (The valet, I mean). Our plan was to take the monorail into MK right after breakfast. It will be our first ever view of the castle and the Kingdom, so we thought the monorail ride would make it that much more magical. Sooooo excited!!!

Off site even with FD...Am I nuts?

Thank you for this observation. I thought a lot of the advice in that comment seemed suspect, but I kind of got nervous reading it, not knowing if it was true. (We are spending our first week ever at Windsor Hills next week, so parts of this thread have my eyes popping out of my head). We also...

How far out of touch am I? Cost of a glass of wine.

I had a similar shocking experience while at a conference in Baltimore. Sessions were over for the day so, as I was wandering around the Inner Harbor, I stepped into a place called Luckies Tavern, just looking for something light to eat for dinner. A sign out front said that appetizers were...

How many days left for your Disney Vacation???

    Cost of Groceries near Disney

Great advice - thanks so much! Now, if I could only get the other family members to be so kind as to help me plan a menu.

    Cost of Groceries near Disney

Hi Folks, We'll be staying in a townhouse in Windsor Hills next week and I wanted to know if I can expect to pay a lot more for groceries when we go shopping. In other words, do the grocery stores take advantage of the tourists and jack up the prices? For a family of four, we...

    Thumbs up for Windsor Hills!

Fantastic! Thanks so much for your response. This takes a load off my mind, especially since Maneshaw is quite close compared to some of the farther streets. Yippppeeee:banana:

    Windsor Hills Stay

Thank you soooooo much for this! How convenient! I've been wondering what groceries to bring/not to bring and how annoying it might be to have to run to the grocery store immediately upon arrival. But now I can wait until the next day for the bulk of our shopping. Yayyy:banana:

    Windor Hills travel to parks

We are staying in a couple of weeks and, from what I've discovered in my research, it looks like it takes about 5-10 minutes to get to Animal Kingdom, 10-15 to get to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, and 15-20 to get to Magic Kingdom. Not too shabby!

Summer Bay Resort vs. Villas at Summer Bay

WOW, so it was this week that you had made your reservation? Everyone is okay, I hope? I also hope it didn't ruin your vacation - something like that can be quite disruptive to an already hectic schedule. Where are you staying now?

    Thumbs up for Windsor Hills!

Hi! Thanks so much for the review of Windsor Hills. We'll be staying there in a couple of weeks and I've been hoping and hoping that our experience will be the best it can be. According to your experience, it sounds like it will! I have a question for you, but I'm not sure if you can answer...

Resort collapse due to sink hole

I feel as if, lately, these have been reported quite often. In Florida. So, since the day we started planning this upcoming trip, whenever I hear one of these stories, my mind has been thinking of sinkholes in Disney, also.

I am so happy right now..!!!

This is awesome. So happy for you. November seems too far away, though! At least you have no worries until then...you can just think about the happy things, like where you're going to eat or which park you're going to on what day. :yay:

First Trip: Windsor Hill or Bonnet Creek?

OMG - are you kidding me? I was just thinking to myself, "I wonder which grocery stores are the closest" and I saw this. You are amazing, seriously. This is VERY helpful. Thank you!!!:lovestruc

Souvenirs! What did you buy? Or wish you had bought?

When I was about 15 and EPCOT was fairly new (about 27 years ago), my grandparents bought me a beautiful fan from the China pavilion. A cast member had written my name in Chinese on the fabric. (I'm sure there is really no Chinese translation for "Colleen" though. LOL) I had it hanging in my...
