I am worrying a bit about the corrals, since I want to be able to stop & do fun things. So, it's important to me not to be at the back of the last corral. I don't want to spend the whole race one step in front of the sweepers without any chances to stop for photo ops, etc. ;).

Just signed up for the Frankenfooter Half Marathon here on the FL west coast on Oct 27, to try to get a corral placement time. I'm going to be slow, but I'm hoping to be fast enough to get out of the last corral for the marathon :cool1: so I don't have to worry so much about getting swept...

I do this, too ;). It's hard to throttle back and tell myself to take babysteps, it takes time and miles to build up. I don't actually have any good advice for you. Just wanted to let you know you are not alone fighting that want-to-be-better-NOW feeling. :wave2:

I always bike commando (there are about four million sources explaining that's how the padded shorts work best :)) but it never occurred to me to try running commando. Hmmmm.....

ETA: Pretty sure they won't give away all the spots in early registration. For the GSC, early registration sold out in about 2 days I think. When normal registration opened it took about an hour before the 50% full marker showed up on the website. So, they allotted less than 50% of the available...

Interesting. I asked RunDisney the same question about whether I'd be able to modify my reservations if a good discount came up, and they told me it would be no problem. :confused3 Guess I'll find out later this summer if a discount gets announced...

I'm about 70% sure I'm going to run as Princess Leia, and if I do my costume definitely won't match my bib ;). I don't think it's a huge deal. Some folks chose their favorite princess based on the color of the bib, not the name of the princess, so it'll coordinate with their costume. Of course...

I had that problem when I first started running. Turned out I'd lost so much weight the undies just didn't fit right anymore. Maybe you just need a smaller size? :goodvibes
