Must do’s on DCL Alaskan Cruise

Try to get on a private tour in Ketchikan to go bear viewing. We went with Carlin Air quite a few years ago on a DCL cruise to the Anan Creek Bear Observatory (in June I believe), and it was amazing to see black and grizzly bears up close from a viewing platform catching and eating salmon. I...

Can you sail with Disney Cruise Line WITHOUT a Smart Phone???

On the magic this summer, one of us forgot to download the DCL app before setting sail. We were able to borrow an iPod from guest services to use that only had the app available.

What is the pin trading situation on the Disney Wonder?

We just got off the Magic (6/18 - 6/27 Greece), and the 3 stores had pin books. No officer trading event. There were a lot of the same pins each day, but on a few days, CM pulled some from the back (and one day we got a nice DCL pin). My kids had a great time looking at the pin books every...

    Alaska: anan creek 2013?

We were there for about 90 minutes in total, and the kids had fun for about the first 20 minutes, but then became bored because they had to keep the noise level down. It is somewhat repetitive for them. Bear climbs down to the river, grabs a fish, takes it back up the hill, eats fish. Repeat...

    Alaska: anan creek 2013?

We did not have a guide, so we just walked the half-mile path ourselves. We were a group of five, including one chile age 6 and another age 3. I just piggy-backed the younger child the whole way over. The "bear aware" briefing that is given by the Ranger prior to starting on the path made us...

    Alaska: anan creek 2013?

Just getting back from the July 8th sailing, and went to Anan during the Ketchikan stop. We saw about nine different black bears and one grizzly and a bunch of eagles. We went with Carlin Air, and their service was great! Definitely the highlight of the trip.

Ever use a Post Office in Alaska for souvenirs?

We are interested in bringing back food items such as reindeer sausage and salmon, among other items, from our Alaskan cruise, but since we need to go through US customs again at Vancouver airport, I assume there will be restrictions on what can be brought back to the US. So, I was wondering...

    Booking Port Adventures Onboard

Assuming that a port adventure isn't sold out, can someone tell me how late can I wait before booking a port adventure onboard? For example, if we are arriving in port on Friday, will I still be able to book adventures on Wednesday? how about Thursday? I am looking at several port adventures...
