If Disney had lifeguards they would be liable for anything that occurs while the lifeguard is on duty. The decision to not have one is purely legal and business.
I agree that all parents should be watching their kids. I am not certain if a lifeguard is necessarily needed but it seems that...
We have 2 smalls kids and booked the late seating. We eat closer to 8:00 at home usually and can't imagine eating dinner around 5. I think you will probably find a decent amount of kids at either seating.
I think they will do fine. I am originally from S. Florida and in high school we would frequently go on school field trips to Disney and go through the parks on our own ( with friends of course but no adults). Some kids would always end up In Trouble but it was always the usual suspects and...
I never suggested that I would bring my kids to an area where they are prohibited. However, if it is not an area where children are expressly prohibited, then I see no reason why they cannot be there, with us, to the extent they are behaving well. Like I said above, on prior cruises (non DCL)...
Thanks. We will be on the Fantasy. We have been on other cruiselines in the past where children were generally allowed in bar areas during reasonable hours. We enjoy the process of getting ready for dinner and walking around the ship and getting a drink. Our children don't really drink soda...
Perhaps I am misinterpreting, but if my DH and I want to have a pre-dinner drink ( we have the late seating) whilst our children enjoy Shirley temples, they will not be allowed in the bar areas? I can understand after 10 pm or something but are they not allowed in at all?
Nevertheless, the PP makes a good point in that to the extend the area is not restricted there may indeed be children in the vicinity even if the parents are not participating.
Several people on this thread have mentioned that there is no actual supervision and that the 3 year olds are not supervised independently from the 12 year olds. Others have mentioned that they would not leave a 3 yo in the kids club because of the commingling of age groups. To me, safety...
I am not sure why people are questioning the father's decision to go public with this? If my chid was missing on dcl for 45 minutes I would definitely want to publicize it and see if it has possibly happened to anyone else. widespread publicity is often what leads companies to change their...
I don't understand. Is there some sort of discount if you buy with gift cards? What is the difference between paying the cruise with a gift card and putting it on your regular card? I am clearly missing something:)
You may think that but that is not entirely accurate. I am in-house counsel for a company larger than Disney. As legal counsel we provide advice as to legal risk. The " business" unit then determines whether or not it is willing to take that legal risk based on financial metrics. Disney may...
Honestly, I wish I had all this information prior to booking as this is not the way it was marketed. I had high expectations for this upcoming trip. We went on a non disney cruise a Few years ago when our oldest was 4 and the kids club was divided into smaller age groups and I felt that the...
I have been lurking for a couple months on here in anticipation of our cruise on the Fantasy next month. I am so shocked by the responses on this thread that it pushed me into actually joining and commenting.
I am surprised at how many posters think the father overreacted or that he should...
