    Recommended lens rental company/lens type?

I've used both http://www.borrowlenses.com and http://aperturent.com/, the later of which is local to Atlanta, and they are both great services. Very competitive prices. Make sure you opt for the insurance if you do rent, no matter what.

    Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom

I love the idea of the device, but for it to be a phone it'll be a bit unwieldy. Now the Samsung Galaxy NX looks nice, an interchangeable lens camera (I believe it's CSC so it's an APS-C sensor) with an Android OS and all the bells and whistles including 3G/4G LTE support.

    Tables in Wonderland

Can you use the AP discount with TIW? I thought it was one or the other (which of course you would most likely choose TIW since it's 20% vs 10%).

    Tables in Wonderland

We have TIW and absolutely love it! For the type of dining we do at Disney, TIW just makes more sense. I would say that if you know you are going to eat 3+ meals a day, DDP might be a better option. However, if you are like us and only really eat one big meal a day with a couple of snacks during...

    DVC POLY future owners thread

I can almost certainly say that we will be owners at the poly villas once they are opened. We just bought into DVC this year and so far we have two contracts; one at BWV and one at GFV. And I can't imagine those will be the last.

    VGF amenities

Not sure if GFV is going to have a store just yet (hoping they do), but the GF does if needed. It's on the 2nd floor just as you exit the monorail to the right. And last I checked they were pretty well stocked for the necessities.

    Photo sharing: Sony Alpha

Amazing shot Harry!! The color is great and the soft shadows and smooth bokeh make the composition really standout. Personally i'm digging the water droplets too!

Dream big, live Grand. VGF homeowners' thread.

My guess is borrowing 2014 points. We almost had to do the same, but decided to only stay 2 nights at GFV and 3 at BWV for our upcoming trip.

    Small DSLR backpack?

Check out the Lowepro Hatchback 16L AW. It's a smallish light weight bag, that will easily carry the amount of gear you are looking to pack. Comes in 3 colors (Blue, Grey & Red, which is actually more of an orange in person). I have the 22L version for my D7100, and I love it...

Dream big, live Grand. VGF homeowners' thread.

We bought 50 pts to be able to stay in a studio once a year. We have 160 at BWV for any other trips. So happy to be an owner at the Grand! Our first stay is booked already for a LV stuido Oct 30-Nov 1 for MNSSHP!

    Anyone using a Sony DCS-HX20v?

Wow amazing pics. I'm quite impressed by the quality of this little P&S. I think hakepb's trip report might have made my decision. This will be a back up to my D7100, and I think it will work well (especially since I don't have a telephoto zoom for my DSLR).

    Anyone using a Sony DCS-HX20v?

I have an HX9v and i'm looking at getting the HX20v to replace it. Anyone have any experience with this P&S? Any photos you'd care to share (Disney or otherwise)?

Just bought my first non-entry level dSLR. Thoughts?

Actually they lowered the price on the 18-270, it's now about $450. I don't mind the investment in good glass, but I don't have an extra $1k to invest at this point in time. I'll see what my guy at Showcase can get those lenses for. Thanks for the recommendation.

Just bought my first non-entry level dSLR. Thoughts?

Honestly the feel of the camera in my hands. The T4i was too small, almost felt like a toy. The only Canon's I liked that felt right were the 60D, 7D & 6D, of which only the later was considered to be up to date tech wise. There are already rumors of a 70D replacing the 60D, and the 7D was...

Just bought my first non-entry level dSLR. Thoughts?

Any thoughts a good lightweight travel tripod, that doesn't cost $500 (no Gitzo's please, lol)

Just bought my first non-entry level dSLR. Thoughts?

I was reading about that on dpreview. For post processing I will be using Lightroom & possibly Photoshop (CS6). I have a sub to creative cloud. Is there a better lens that I should get than the Tamron? Should I just suck it up and deal with switching lens's when the need arises? I plan to get a...

Just bought my first non-entry level dSLR. Thoughts?

I will definitely have to check that book out, thanks! As for the lens, yea I figured it was a step down from the kit lens in some aspects, but I really wanted a good all-in-one lens, something that I didn't have worry about switching around all the time while out and about in WDW. The guy at...

Just bought my first non-entry level dSLR. Thoughts?

So yesterday the DW and I went to Showcase Photo here in ATL, and after about 2 hours going over different gear they had, I walked away with a brand new Nikon D7100 (body only) with a Tamron 18-270mm Di II VC PZD and SB700. This isn't my first dSLR, but certainly my first that wasn't an entry...
