If you go to youtube and type in "Disney Stateroom" and the specific category you're looking for, you'll be able to pull up lots of videos for previous cruisers. I found that to be really helpful!

It's my understanding that booking a GTY means that you are guaranteed a room in that category. Depending on the number of bookings, you could be bumped up to an oceanview cabin. Ours was a regular booking, so we got to pick from the map which room we wanted.

I would also suggest flying in the night before if possible, for your own comfort level. The drive from Houston to Galveston does take an hour with no traffic, but that drive is so unpredictable! I, personally, wouldn't want the stress added to the day!
