Confused on strategy - me vs. touring plans

I adore TP for WDW and use it faithfully. We just did 2.5 days at Universal with EP, and I never ever even looked at the TP we set up. I also was confused about how it planned my day, but was going to use as a back up. EP allowed us to be totally spontaneous. We rode our faves over and over...

Tips For Night Lights @Hogwarts Castle..?

We did not plan ahead for this. Just stumbled into it. The show is so high up that where you are did not seem to be an issue. And it’s shorter than Wishes. We were there on a low to Med crowd day and literally walked up and looked up at the start. My nine year old could see just fine with...

    Poncho or Rain Coat?

They are a woven poly material with a foam sole. They are great park shoes!! Super light weight. The tops dried quickly. The foam insole was like a sponge in the rain. And they did not smell good at the end of the day after being wet for ten hours (and I wasn’t sweaty and my shoes are...

    Newbie with lots of questions

Books!!! I think just reading the first will be excellent. If no time then movies, but really...the books are amazing. There are parts beyond the first few books that are referenced in the Park, but nothing that will make your experience significantly less fun.

    Poncho or Rain Coat?

Ugh. I had on Sketchers Go Walks and my feet were so wet all day. I don’t know what the solution for shoes is. I don't like slipping around in flip flops either. Maybe Tevas if you have a pair that are broken in. The streets were literally flooded on Monday. Puddles were almost impossible...

    Poncho or Rain Coat?

What’s weird about considering purchasing items that can be reused vs a one time use? It may not always be feasible, but it’s worth thinking about. Even if it can be recycled, it might not be the best choice (or the most economical in the long run). I know those ponchos are thin plastic, but...

    Poncho or Rain Coat?

Yes. This week they asked guests on some rides to take them off. I want to say on Spidermdn or Transformers if I remember correctly, but can’t swear since they weren’t talking to us. On MIB they were telling guests to tuck them behind their back. Just a note on disposable ponchos...if you...

    Poncho or Rain Coat?

I like rain coats. We just finished a rainy Universal vaca this week. The benefit of a poncho is that it easily covers your bag. But I hate the bulk and find them so hot. I like a light rain jacket and ziplock my stuff inside my little backpack. We used small umbrellas when it poured too...

    Rainy day encouragement

Sunday was just fine. Monday was so, so wet. I think it stopped raining for an hour max the whole day. So less spell making and more re-rides of our faves. I’m glad I had a nine year old with me instead of a four year old. He was a trooper!

Is Gringotts comparable to Pirates, Splash Mountain or Dinosaur at Disney?

If you want to lessen the intensity I’d ask to sit in the third row. I loved the hanging drop. My 9 yr old DS not as much (he was forewarned). We rode once in back row and once in front. Back row certainly less intense for the drop. In general for Transformers, Spidey and Gringotts, I...

    Wand exchange

We just finished a three day park visit yesterday and bought a wand on day one. On day three it stopped working. A witch in DA came to help with a spell that DS had done many times with ease. She looked at the tip, gave it a shake by her ear and sent us for a repair. Ten minutes later we...

Newbie questions about lockers and lanyards

I have my card on one side of my lanyard and DS on the other side. You need quick access too them all the time. What I’m doing is working great. I just flip it over to scan.

    E T ride vehicle

I rode it today and the sign says no laps.

    Rainy day encouragement

We have all day next Sunday and Monday in the parks. Some rain Sunday most likely, but looks manageable. Monday looks like rain almost the whole day. No lightning as of right now, but lots and lots of rain. I’ve done Disney in the rain, and I know there are some crowd perks, but ugh...

    Early Entry Question

Ugh. You guys are making me rethink my EE plan! We are also very early RD at WDW people, and we go hard in the mornings. HP is the main focus of our trip though. I wanted an hour to do DA without crazy crowds. Our days just got upped from level 3s to 4s. We are going to hit DA the night...

First evening park vs CW (PM arrival)

Two full days after arrival. We never do anything but parks at DW. The peripheral stuff is just not a priority. And our trips are always add ons to visiting family, not their own entity. So I don’t think I’ll be sad to miss CW. I think we will go for it! Get his wand. Walk around. Thanks!

First evening park vs CW (PM arrival)

We get in from the West Coast (long, direct flight) at 4 PM on a Saturday (5/12). Will Uber / Lyft to RPR. Have checked bags. I'm guessing arrive around 6? I had planned to get dinner at CW; maybe walk around there a tiny bit then call it a night. I'm just with DS (9). I think I can buy...

    Lockers? Help me understand.

It’s just me and the nine year old, so we have to stick together.

    Lockers? Help me understand.

Tell me if I have this right....Been reading the HP and locker threads but some of it is old. If I have anything other than a hip pack, I will need to use a locker for several of the rides at both parks (no Hulk or RRR for us FYI. I know they have strict rules). Hats can stay on heads or...

Rides or DA for early admission?

Park to Park so we can do the train! And we are staying at RPR so UEP too.
