DH stepped on a sea urchin at CC in April. The one time he didn't wear water shoes. He was still picking out prickers a week later. I would recommend them, for sure. Just my $.02

We had a Cat. 9, Deck 2 on our May cruise and loved it. Mind you, we had been upgraded from a 12 so we were very very happy indeed. Ditto to those who said they liked being close to the water - the views were awesome and the water is SO blue and clear. It was great to be close to the water...
