Nice review and brings back great memories. I was on the same trip and was unaware that Captain John joined the cruise at PC. Very nice captain...I watched him on the outside bridge as the ship waited for 45 minutes for a family who apparently lost track of the all aboard time in Key West.

I highly recommend Vista Shuttles. Less than $250 round trip between IAH and cruise port for a dedicated van (up to 7 people). Great communication and driver was always at pickup point at scheduled time.

I recently used Vista Shuttles RT between IAH and Galveston for two families. The RT rate for the dedicated van (up to 7 people) was less than $250 (yes RT total)

Sharon... a nice 30 minute train commute into Boston :) My kids are interested in joining a fish extender group once we get closer to the cruise date and we pay for this trip!

On my recent trip I did exactly this on some evenings and others I brought a bottle of wine to the MDR and paid the the $20 corkage fee.

Hi Tiarasandcrowns and Disney1430. My family of 4 (DD and DS, now 11/9) just booked this cruise onboard our recent 8-day on the Magic (2/16/13), our first DC. Looking forward to Alaska on another "classic" ship. Disney1430, another MA resident joining the ranks!

Thankfully have never had to file a claim but I have used Travel Select (via InsureMyTrip) and find it a good value for the coverage.
