    NEW...DOLPHIN/SWAN..."questions and answers"...tips and hints!

mep319 I am Starwood Gold, and about two months ago I sent an email with a humble request for an upgrade if available. Then two weeks out, I emailed again, and then one week out, I sent a FAX to the Rooms Controller respectfully requesting an upgrade. All of these things were learned from...

    NEW...DOLPHIN/SWAN..."questions and answers"...tips and hints!

Thanks ww52 The best part is we are taking advantage of the $99 rate that was advertised through Travelzoo. It even beat our $129 government rate when we booked 11 months ago. Still can't believe the special applied to the time of out trip and that we were able to get this rate!

Yippee. After lurking and learning for many months on this thread, our SPG ressie just changed from "Limited View" to "Deluxe Room, Resort View with balcony, View of Crescent Lake." We are arriving at WDW and the Swan, both for the first time, in two days.

Which foods are not allowed at border crossing?

Unless you are prepared to lie at the border, don't bring any food with you. The only answer to the question "Are you bringing any food into the United States?" is NO. Otherwise, the door is open to a complete search and declaration. A co-worker of my BIL had an apple with her, and the...

    NEW...DOLPHIN/SWAN..."questions and answers"...tips and hints!

I have been lurking here for many months gleaning lots of great info from your thread. We will be arriving at the Swan and WDW (both for the first time) in four days. A couple of questions for the experts: 1. Is there a separate check-in area for Starwood guests? Is it to the left or...

Do you think I need a passport??????

We live down this way. I crossed Saturday morning (Feb. 8/03) with the Americans on "High" security alert. I guess everyone stayed at home because we drove right to the customs agent with no other cars in line. Two pieces of ID are required - birth certificate and driver's licence are...

Tia I also looked at the Swan Studio at the Govt rate. You said you have two adults and 3 kids. I was told that the studios are one King bed and a pull-out sofa. I asked if it was available with two queens and was told no. I don't know how that set-up will work with five of you.

    NEW...DOLPHIN/SWAN..."questions and answers"...tips and hints!

Thanks for the info DF99. I called today and booked the Swan at $129 for four nights - still can't believe the rate. I thought DTD Best Western at $99 including breakfast was good. We live in Ontario, and are as far south as you can go and still be in Canada. In fact we go north to go to...

We are going to WDW for the first time Dec. 20-24/03 with DH,DW, and 2 DD (13, 16). My Canadian Government rate at $129 makes the Swan or Doplhin possible, in spite of our beleagured dollar. I must admit, those Heavenly Beds look nice! I have read through this entire thread (yes, all 47 pages)...

    Best Western Downtown Disney

I just discovered that Swan accepts Canadian Government employees for a major discount - only $129/night for Dec 20-23/03. I guess the simple question from a WDW rookie is this - is it worth $30/night and buying breakfast for 4 to stay at Swan versus Best Western? All replies from WDW...

    Best Western Downtown Disney

We are taking our first WDW trip Dec. 20-23/03 with DH, DW, and 2 DD (13, 16). Our beleaguered Canadian dollar makes us shudder at the costs, but we know it will be exciting. The Best Western DTD has a special for $99 including full breakfast for everyone and a pizza delivered to your room...
